Can anyone help me regarding who actually makes the Rear Sets that go Down 1 inch so I can get my knees ou of my ribs. Its my only complaint.
I have already purchased some because the idiot at the shop said you can filp the plat and the Sato Race ones will go down instead of up. After $400 it didnt .... I was told the same thing buy another idiot regarding the Vortex.
It has to be MADE to go DOWN and BACK .... or no joy.
Any help would be apreciated !!
Thank You

Here's a thread with photo's showing the Vortex rearsets installed on a Ten. The mounting brackets have been switched from side to side, resulting in a downward angle.

I'm about to order some for myself. Who's got the best price?

Nope they dont work because of the angle of the holes. They end up pushing the shift up.
I had Brackets Made !! $150.00. They are Perfect !! It took a long time to get it right but if your interested .... I can post pictures.
It made all of the difference .... I went for a 4 hour rided on Sat then another 5 hour on Sun with NO Issues ..... Sick Fast and now Comfy as well.

The closeup photos in the thread I posted above verify that the Vortex rearsets do indeed mount with the brackets switched side to side to achieve a lower angle. Perhaps that's not what you are looking for.
On Saturday, I spoke to a young man who owns a 2004 Ten. He works for my dealer. He has Vortex rearsets set up with the brackets in the normal manner. His pegs are all the way back, all the way down. He said it makes a significant improvement in comfort. I sat on the bike; not too bad. It should be even better with the mounting brackets reversed to mount the pegs lower.
The best price I could find was at www.cycleconceptsracing.com: $315 shipped to your door.
My dealer is also a riding buddy of mine (150 hp Muzzy ZRX1200) said he would match that price. I ordered mine today.
Also on order is the LSL handlebar conversion kit. Since it's changed for 2006, there will be a slight delay. See www.SpieglerUSA.com for a photo.
I will report when I have the bar and rearsets installed and have some seat time.
Best wishes,
Dave

I fell for the above shit from the parts guy at the dealer i go to. After $550 and Two F@#$$@# Months I got the Rearsets. And sure enough you can flip the bracket but it does exactly what I said. He then spent a F#$ hour trying to get it to work then talked about a drilling and grinding a little here and there for the Best Fit .... @#$@#$.
Fortunatly I paid cash for my bike so the sales manager got my $550 back. I have sense been to 3 dealers here in south florida and there is company that would go down around 5mm tops and thats from the Parts Manager.
Thats the real deal .... so i had them made.
Be carefull to waste your money .... you may not get lucky and get your money back.

OK, the deed is done: My new 2006 now sports Vortex rearsets. I opted for the black, but the polished ones are sharp too.
Because I wanted maximum leg room, the mounting brackets were reversed to provide a downward (instead of upward) angle. This works great. Because there is no exhaust plumbing on the 2006 on the brake side, both pegs are located all the way down and all the way rear on the mounting bracket. Check the photos in the thread I posted above.
Vortex has changed the design of the both the pegs and the "pedals". The pegs are more textured and the shifter and brake pedals are now smooth. The advantage is that the pegs provide more traction for your boots and the smooth shifter doesn't uprade the top of your boot.
On long rides I always had leg discomfort on my Twelve. I'm hoping the Vortex rearsets will diminish that on my new Ten.
BTW, retail is $399, you can find them on the internet for considerably less.
Happy Ergos to all,
Dave
