How was the road surface?

Have you set the sag?

What tire pressures?

Is it on stock settings?

If 05 bike do you have a damper?

You could try a litttle less rebound on the front!

Recall

I just got a letter about a minor recall for mine ('06 model). Apparently the steering damper mounting bolt hasn't been tightened to the correct torque setting. Don't know if that's got anything to do with it, then again I've had no probs with mine apart from a reasonably small wobble when I hammered it on a rough surface.

Check the tightness of your bearings in the stem if it was not the surface, light powerful bike on a rough surface gonn'a shake but loose bearings in the stem will cause problems too, don't know how tight but the answer is in the past search the old posts

start with set up and air pressure they are free tweaks.....then you might play with ride heigth....I have checked out that Ohlins damper the 06 comes with and am not a big fan of it, i woudl scrap it and put a scotts on it.....if the other fixes to work that is...

ok guys I dropped some air out of my front tire put a little more presure on my forks and I even held on a little tighter, I was only able to get to 156 before I had to back out of it.
ran out of road but it does seem a little more stable. I will tweak on it a bit more when the rain goes away and let you know
thanks fellas

Don't grip the bars tight at all, that binds the steering creating headshake, keep a loose grip on the bars and use your legs to hang-on.

Make sure your tire pressures are the right amount.

Set the suspension properly, most important sag.

How many miles are on your tires? Any noticable wear?

It could be a "balancing issue" with the front tire. In many cases, they guy that mounts the tires at the dealership just gets to what he thinks is "close" before tapping that weight onto the rim. Sometimes, they might not even check the balance and just leave the old weight on the rim.

Not to say that this is a common thing with service departments, but I've seen it happen more than I care to. In most circumstances, I'd think being a little off is no big deal. Doin' a "Buck Fifty" or more, it could possibly be a contributing factor.

It is not impossible for a front tire and rim to balance out "perfectly". Just more often then not, some amout of weight is usually necessary. Now, of course, in most cases we're only talking about 7 to 28 grams (0.25~1.0 oz). A 1/4 to 1/3 oz ain't much... a ounce is a uncommonly big chunk.

not even so much as a shimmy , now it has the new scotts damper and Im sure that helps alot. as far as the 10 goesshould I tighten on the front and rear damping

I have no expierience on the new 10's suspension. I woudl suggest that you set the sag first, then play with the rebound and compression damening...I havea flow chart that may help you set it up..I will post it here

remember this is just a guide.....try makeing small adjustments...
