Oh damn Adam.....you have exposed me before all of Bikeland.org. Yes, I have indeed sold the zx10 and bought a Bandit 1200. And by the way, you got it all wrong.....I didn't move "up" to a Bandit 1200, I moved "down."
Got to ride it all the way back from New Port Richey today. The thing acts like it doesn't even want to take a slow speed corner. It feels like it would just fall over on its side if you didn't keep a lot of pressure on the inside bar. Maybe the front tire just needs some more pressure.....i'll have to give it a thorough look over and wash tomorrow. I got pelleted with "love bugs" on the ride back. (You could smell them roasting on that big air cooled engine :P )
I'll be giving a full and detailed report on "the beast" very soon.

Rode a turbo Bandit a few years ago; made the tens acceleration feel like running on a wet turd.

No worries Eric, I may be ditching sportbikes altogether for a SuperMoto here in a few months, they seem cheaper to buy, cheaper to maintain, and most important cheaper to crash.
Plus a fresh challenge of riding pavement and dirt would be something new.
Thinking of the Husky 610SM or KTM 625SM.
And you mo-fuggas will have to wait for me to catch-up so bring a mag or ipod and find you some shade.

By coincidence, I spent last Sunday riding 300 (wet) miles through the Western Highlands of Scotland on a borrowed Bandit 1200. My impressions: big, comfy couch, underwhelming power, makes 100 mph feel like light speed, lots of movement on the suspension, which seems to be made out of limp spaghetti. If I had to choose between the Bandit and my 10R for a quick, 2000 mile trip, I'd jump for the Suzuki. Otherwise, gimme my 10.

Well, I found out why my front end felt like shit during slow speed turns.......
The dude I bought it from had front and rear tire pressures at 25 psi....about 11 psi low. That's definitely a recipe for the handling I was experiencing.
