06 fairings on a 05 bike
Anyone know if the fairings off an 06 bike would fit on to an 05 model witha little tweekingAs race teams are starting to put the race fairings on 06 bikes ,Ive got a chance to pick up a set for next to nothing So thinking about giving it a go?? Anyone got any advice on this Im going to keep the rear as05 but use the 06 headlight and fairings&bellypan if poss !

Why?? The 05 is a much better looking bike in most peoples opinion.

the 06 fairing will not fit an 05....... maybe a few bolt holes will line up but thats it, ask the guys who are changing to race skin. they should tell you that the 06 is all together different
( i agree with Tedg the 05 is a much better looking bike )

I agree its better looking dont get me wrong but we're taking about picking whole kit up for £50.00 as a pose to £300.00 for a 05 kit purely money saving exersize

Hi guys,
First post and all that so take it easy.......
Joined up to find out if i can fit the bellypan or lower fairing off a 06 onto a 04 bike. Had a little mishap on the track in mondello and hoping to pick something up cheapish.

I dont thikn so, I mean with some modifications it will work but the belly pans are different on the two modles.
1 there are no cut outs for your exhaust so youd have to hack it up a lil
and
2 the mounting holes on the 06's have 3 holes Vs. 2 on the 10r on the front ward area.
I'd love to stick a 06 race fairin on my bike though jsut for aerodynamics of them, they have been proven to be able to cut the wind just a bit better than the 04-05's

What are you thinking? A Gixxer 1000 fairing won't even fit a 600 Gixxer with the same identical look and the same model year.

fair enough boys, did some cutting and pasting on some photos there and they're not the same...... who mentioned 600's ???
