05 ZX10 brake problems
Is anyone experiencing brake problems with their 10's? i.e. leaking master cylinders, fading
etc? I've been waiting for 2 weeks for Kawasaki to sort out warranty issues, and get me new parts.

If you have leaking master cylinder, replace it with a Brembo 19x20 radial pump from Yoyodyne and be sure to also get the mechanical brake light actuator. The calipers, pads, and rotors on this bike are amazingly good for stock Jap stuff. The master cylinder is ok, just somewhat undersized so any fade is greatly magnified. A set of braided ines would be nice too, but you don't want to use a kit for the stock master cylinder with the Brembo. Someone should know if a kit for the 636/6R, or the 06 10R will work. They all have a radial pump stock. Or you could wait for some twit at the dealership to make a little booboo that ends up killing you. I know, It's the principle. A 160 hp bike should have brakes that work, dammit. And a good shock. And forks valved for the intended use. And a steering damper... Is this getting through to you, or do I actually have to state the fucking obvious?

You're talking to Kawi with the last sentence, right?

Who me? I was just twisting the guys tits. I just can't believe people are naive enough to think 11k is going to buy perfection. Corners are cut to meet the price point, but the value is still huge. You want brakes you can use in anger it will cost a bit more. You want a decent shock, guess what? Ditto the forks and damper. As delivered, the bike is more than adequate for the 99 percent of owners who buy it for the ride to Starbucks. No beef with Kawi. Ok, they could have done a bit more r&d on the geometry.
