Naff front handling?

A lot of people (mags) have reported the 06 ten as having a weird front feel when not at track type speeds or commitment. I have to agree that mine has slipped or struggled with some 30 to 35mph manouvers/ bends when least expected and doesnt give total confidence at these slower speeds (excellent at faster speeds though).

My qusetion to those in the know is this would a drop to a 190/50 profile tyre be any better or has anyone tried this.
At least one magazine ( i think) was treated to a press bike with this fitment and (i think again) said it was fantastic but then they changed the tyre the following day to the OE 55 profile tyre the next day and they said they had lost some "feel" by doing this.

Any experst ot there who could pass comment as i dont want to spend hard earned cash on something which will have little or no impact.

Cheers
