Literbike review R.R.W.
RoadRacingWorld did an 06 Literbike comparo, no street, track only(where they are designed to shine anywho). In the end(and not based on laptimes alone but a points system) the GSXR1000 came in 1st for being great all around, revised CBR1000RR 2nd, new ZX10R 3rd, R1 4th, 999S 5th. Some interesting points are the ZX10 is still the class leader in all out stomp, the one with the most motor killed on the straights but was let down by feeling heavier than last years as it weighs around 13(?)lbs heavier. They also had the R1LE but didn't do a complete comparison because they couldn't get a 2nd set of wheels from Yamaha, interestingly enough they weighed the wheels with brakes, the Honda had the lightest wheels of them all, even lighter than the Marchasini's off the R1LE, I think the Ducks wheels were the heaviest but not sure. Overall the CBR is about 15lbs lighter for 06, still a heavy bike, but lighter than the R1LE which Ohlin's suspension adds some poundage in exchange for rigidity, giving it some of the best corner entry speed. The minor revised R1 was stated as feeling the most nimble/fastest steering reguardless of being heavier than the ZX10R/GSXR1000.
I don't have my copy of it with me right now so some of these points might be a bit off, I read it half asleep last night. Anyone else read it that could add to this?

I was suprised to see that they complained about the 10's throttle response being so bad!! can't recall anyone bitching about that in any of the press release articles. you have to wonder if RRW had a misadjusted throttle body or a wacky TP sensor!!!

When I was at the intro there were no complaints whatsoever about the 10R's throttle. Personally I thought it was pretty good.. more refined than my 04.. power came on earlier... not sure what the gripe is? strange..

Common guys ..... the 06 ZX10r came in last because of the Front Handling and there was TO MUCH POWER. The ZX10 WHEELIED to Much and the rider deamed it "Out-Of-Control". It has 8-10 HP Over the others and the Gearing Is taller but the damn thing is still Out-Of-Control".
I could pick anyone of the bikes .... but the zx10r is the sickest looking, there are not a thousand on the street, and it Wheelies at any hint of throttle over 50 so that makes it Perfect for me ! Ive been riding over 12 years any ANY Joe Races on a GSXR750 ( I had the 04 so I know) will toast any of the Superbikes in the twisties !!! But if you want FUN then you want OUT-OF-CONTROL !!

Have to agree about the front handling see my thread about a tyre change as i am still sure the front end can be easily sorted by a different sized rear tyre, just cant remember where i read it ! Damned.
It is NOT planted at slower speeds but is fantastic at higher totally commited speeds. Shame really as this would make it absolutely perfect.
Still love it the way it is though.

The '06 zx10r has 8-10 hp over the others???! Where did you see this? Is this what the RRW article said? Motorcycle-usa's dyno comparison seems to indicate a different story
