Tank bra and fender eliminator for '06 ZX-10?
Ok, so I have my new black 2006 ZX-10!! Got it last weekend, but could not ride until yesterday due to snow and ice! Damn snow storm. Rode it last night, but could only rev to 4K due to break-in restrictions. Still, I would tell it will be one sweet ride!
So, it is time to accessorize. I want a tank bra and a fender eliminator kit, but I have not seen any for the 2006 yet. I also am thinking of a single seat cowl.
Does anyone know when and where these items will be sold?
Thanks!

I'm a lesbian. I had a bra once. I burned it. They move around and shit gets under them and they end up scratching the tank. Counterproductive in a huge way. I use clear film paint protection that you can't see and it works perfectly.

Ah, you have got to love topless women! I'll do some research about clear film paint protection since I know basically nothing about it. At the same time, I would be happy to hear more about the protection you use. How much of the tank is protected? Just the first part of the tank right next to the seat, or does it go all the way to the front? Does it create bubbles when you put it on? How does it form around the tank?

There are essentially two kinds of film: adhesive film from 3M and non adhesive "static cling" stuff. I have used both. Both work great. Properly installed, there are no bubbles and the shit is not visible from more than a foot away. They use this stuff on Ferraris. You need a very little technology to put it on. For the adhesive stuff you must be careful not to put fingerprints on the sticky side as those will show. Clean your fingers with alcohol or windex before you start so accidental contact will not leave prints. Cut the material to shape, put water on the tank for the static stuff and Windex on it for the adhesive film, then position the material and squeegee the excess lubricant out with a 3" plastic putty knife with the business end wrapped in Tyvec (the shit they make FedEx envelopes out of.) Initially a few tiny bubbles might resist your best efforts at removal, but an hour or two in sun takes care of that. I cover the back and sides of the tank with 3 separate pieces. That is where my "monkey fucking a football" riding style does the most damage. The films will stretch some, but for the back of the tank I cut relief slots in the material using a pattern based on an old adhesive protector. The 3M film is pricey and distributed by LP and others. The cling film is available in bulk from a screenprinter supply store. It's the same material used to make those decals you put on the inside of your windshield. Its very cheap so you can do a lot of experimenting before you lay down $ for the 3M film should you deem it necessary. For both products, despite their uncanny longevity removal is easier than installation, exposing virginal paint underneath. The author in no way encourages or condones going to the nearest FedEx drop box now conveniently located at your post office to steal an overnight envelope for raw material. You also want to consider a radiator guard.

Just got my pearl solar yellow zx10r too. It's gonna be a long 500 miles @ 4000rpm hopefully the second 500 miles @ 6000 rpm will go a lil faster. So far the only aftermarket stuff i've seen is windscreens and ohlins shocks. Two brothers has a new (ugly)single can exhaust. It mighta been ok if they centered it but it looks like they removed one can.Try a tank pad instead off a bra...they work great and look hot too.I called hot bodies and they said they'll hav an eliminator kit soon.Ride safe.
