Akrapovich
The Akrapobitch for the 2006 10R is supposed to add 10 hp, and the titanium saves 8 lb: not bad but not outstanding on either count, especially given as the stock pipe reportedly cost 5 hp compared to the old stock exhaust, and reportedly added a lot of weight compared to the old stock exhaust. Maybe a traditional style just is a better idea for power and weight:

Ya think? Extra bends and dual cans might be bad? Mabe the old swingarm will fit and a performance exhaust can be substituted for the cosmetic contraption Kawi saddle the poor homely thing with.

That would be pretty phenominal. The OEM system weighs about 16.8 lbs. So 8.8 lbs for their dual muffler system is awesome to say the least. I don't have the specs in front of me for the 04-05 OEM system, but I don't think the weight difference is actually very big between the two model changes. I wouldn't doubt 10 hp increase. I think Igor makes one of the nicest products in the industry.

Oh, that is very interesting info that the OEM is 16.8 lb.
That certainly shows the error of article claims that the 11 lb weight increase of the 2006 is mostly due to the exhaust. There is no way that the factory exhaust gained more than a few lb if even that, being 16.8 lb now.
So I had, obviously wrongly, concluded the factory exhaust was much heavier than 16.8 lb.
I agree that the resulting weight 8.8 lb, for the Akra is just outstanding, rather than being a poor weight loss as I had thought (from my wrong idea on the stock weight.)
Bovine, no, actually I don't think the extra and quite mild bends are much significant and actually dual cans offer (if using more space) less restriction for meeting the same noise requirements. Nothing bad about dual cans at all. I would attribute less efficiency to being too long.
