Canadian/USA ECU vs Euro (UK)
Hi, I reside in the UK and have purchased a Canadian spec import 2005 ZX10R. The quoted power output spec for UK and Canadian models is 175ps. However I have read in other forums that some USA spec ZX6R's had remapped ECU's to reduce noise at the upper end of the rev range thereby reducing peak power slightly, compared to their UK conterparts. Does anybody know if this is the same for ZX10R's. Are there any differences between UK and USA ECU's other than the Immobiliser option on UK models?
Does anybody have any comparison dyno charts?
Thanks Kev

Hi, I suspect that the uk ecu has different fuel map in it. If you look a PC maps for both std USA and std UK they are different. So it would seem that something is different.
Where you UK Kev I'm in Geordieland up north?

I believe that there are entirely different ECUs for the UK and other european mkts.. I can go dig out my shop manual and see what it says.... I believe that the CDN ECU is one if the least (if not the least) restricted.
The french get screwed and are limited in HP... but hey... they're french!

Thanks guys I would appreciate any information. I would like to compare UK / CDN or USA maps to see where the differences (if any) are.
I noticed that the French bikes are restricted to 100bhp (unlucky) but the only difference I could see compared to UK models was a plug in module that linked a few wires within the ECU so they may be easy to derestrict.
rvfbill, I am down in Lincolnshire but occasionally make my way oop North for the odd rideout.
