Penske shocks have been very well rated from what I've read.

Penske has a very good reputation, as does Ohlins....and Elka is getting there fast.....I would go wrong with any of them, but which ever I do, I want to do as cheaply as possible....I have some other things I nee to pick up for my bike,and dont want to spend allmy money on a shock....I am hoping someone can give me feedback on the WP....its far cheaper than the rest..I just dont want to get into a "get what you pay for scenario".....

10 years experience with WP (White Brothers was the exclusive distributor)!
The shock is first rate; as good as Ohlins. The company changed hands many times. When I left WB about 4 years ago believe they were still owned KTM.

Anyway, you absolutely can't go wrong with the WP. It has all the bells & whistles that the others have. The secret to any aftermarket shock, is tech support. Your shinney new suspension is nothing without proper set-up. Buy from Jim Lindeman at;
www.le-suspension.com and have him set it up for you. He sells WP, Elka, Penske, Ohlins, and does stock suspension as well. Whatever he recommends, will be awesome for you. Jim is one of the best in the biz and will make you more of a hero than you already are.... Tell him I sent cha!!

Just send the stock stuff out and get it Race-Teched. Unless you're an upper level club racer you won't be able to tell any difference from a big bucks aftermarket unit.

Whether it's modifying the stock units or going total aftermarket, it takes two times to get the suspension really right. The first trip gets things in the ballpark for your weight and makes you actually measure things like static sag. The second trip gets things working nicer with how you ride.

The retail Ohlins stuff is the worst of the aftermarket shocks (ok, Fox is worse, but who's going there?). Penske is likely the best. Whatever you put on there is going to be so much better than the the oe pogo stick you will instantly notice the improvement.

Thanks Kerry, i was on his site today looking and that is where I say the WP stuff....and its a lot less expensive than a Penske or Ohlins. I want to start the club level racing this year with ASMA and am looking to not go crazy with expenses....
