Continuing the success of its predecessor, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R dominated the results in the latest track test in Spain. The new version of the 10R claims to be the fastest litre class superbike on the circuit - and it has kept that bold promise. The first racetrack shootout of 2006 was dominated by the lime green machine which lapped over a second faster than its nearest rival.
The February 1 issue of the weekly paper carried the 1000cc Valencia track test of the Ninja ZX-10R comparing it to its Japanese rivals and sang the 10R's praises: "Think of the ZX-10R as a race bike with all the legal requirements for the road - lights, indicators etc - and you'd be spot on".
Directional change ability, control through the handlebars, gear shifting or throttle response, the list of positive comments is extensive. The MCN team were also impressed by the feel from the chassis and the new found agility: "You know exactly what is going on at all times and at all angles".
Excellent brakes contribute to the rider's confidence to push the Ninja ZX-10R harder. The result is the by far fastest lap time of the competition: "So in performance terms, the ZX-10R takes the win".
Final result
1. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R : 1:44.56
2. Honda Fireblade: 1:45.11
3. Yamaha YZF-R1: 1:45.14
4. Suzuki GSX-R1000: 1:45.45

I'd like to take this opportunity to be the first to bring up the "ringer" accusation. No need to thank me. (An equal opportunity nipple twister.)
