Some 2006 ZX-10R Real World Numbers and Info!

Okay... I just took some real world measurements of a production 2006 ZX-10R. It was sitting right beside an 05, so here's what I came up with...

The Peg to Seat height on the 05 vs 06:

2005: 17 3/4 "
2006: 17"

The Ground to Peg Height 05 vs 06:

2005: 15"
2006: 15 1/2"

The Back of the tank (where it meets the seat) to the steering stem 05 vs 06:

2005: 21"
2006: 22"

Sorry.. I didnt have scales with me. I will try to go back tomorrow and weigh them both . Both bikes are full retail stock production units, and are wet.

BTW... speedo/ tach is actually very very cool... kinda unique.

Also mentionable: About same amount of storage under the seat as the 05 (I was surprised by this!)

Also... rear fender assembly comes off VERY easily... 4 x cap screws hold it in place.. that's all. Easy to get to.

Rear peg brackets come off easily, but right side requires the fabrication of a bracket to hold the rear brake reservoir in place.

I'll write more when I can!

Hope this is helpful to all!

It appears like they left the seat alone and moved up the pegs.

not really... ground to seat height would be 32.5" on the '06 and 32" on the '05

they moved everything "around"

I'm glad for the extra inch between seat and bars. I'll definitely be interested to see it at the stealers.

I never had a prob with the reach to the bars, but I'm not a big fan of losing that 3/4 of an inch of peg to seat.

Hmmmm. 15.5 + 17 = 32.5. 15 + 17.75 = 32.75. Not 32 vs. 32.5. Thanks for the info.

Yea I didn't want to point that out. I was playing nice. I figured + or - 1/4" for error. That's why I said it looked like the pegs were only moved up. It really don't matter since the bike is 29 pounds heavier than 05!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
