beans. thats what i'm talkin about...class of 2005 undergrad AND grad school done here...any other longhorns on these boards? I have been waiting for years for this...vince young is a freak....i mean a literal freak of nature. The guy is above NFL level...what were his rushing yards? he's a damn quarterback! why the hell is he running for over 200 yars against USC in the finals? like chris rock says "that ain't right"

That was one of the greatest games I have ever seen, great game. Vince Young is a beast. Don't say USC is all hype, that would lessen the 3 point win by a deserving Texas team.

I know it lessens the win, but I am being honest...I thought about my statesment but I think it is true...not ALL hype but too much hype I guess I should say. VYoung is a beast like you said...the guy is a monster, but from talking to him you can tell, ALL he is, is football, thats not a bad thing, but i guess for him a good thing, but honestly he is just a football monster. He looks like he is not even moving and he shimmy's like 15 yards, I just don't understand it? beans covered it with his post, thats all that needs to be said. But I think that will go down as one of the greatest football games every in college or pro ball, and maybe even one of the greatest games in sports history. Has to be in the top 100 games ever. Ali owuld be one of them, duke a few years ago, andre agassi coming back in his 5 set matches always surprise everyone, ....these great moments...by the way Texas should have won by 9...david pino the kicker missed 2 very easy field goals which would have been an easy 6 points...kinda sucks, but at least vince pulled off that 4th and 5 play...4th and 5 and he runs 4th and 9 yards long around the outside...insane!

His knee was down and that was a fumble in the fourth quarter. Needless to say I don't think any of the teams are hype and it was the greatest game I ever saw. both are great teams and very even.

was not a fumble, it was clear...as for the knee, I talked to a friend who said after the game was over some people reviewed the material and that their is a big chance that the ball was about 1/2 inch away from VY hands at the time the knee touched the ground. It is too hard to tell from the video shown on national TV. I will find out for sure, I am sure the RTF department at UT will check it out when doing the editing for school video publications...that is where my friend is in grad school right now and gave me th info on the ball leaving vinces hands, and he says they will continue to check out the video (just for fun). Anyway USC got lucky in that one play when they didn't call that an interseption (he was clearly down and in posession of the ball before it got stripped). But life is such...Still I would easily say that was the best football game I have ever seen. I was about to have a heart attack for the whole second half. ZXHOYA- as for student, he has somewhere around a 3.0 but of course is in a special program at UT, he takes very few normal classes, most of them are for athletic students and mentally challenged kids (not a joke, the program just happens to teach both groups). He is much more focused in passing classes and used to be a failing student at all levels. I understand he has cleaned up since his ending year in highschool. I think he will come back for the heisman and one more national title. I mean 480 all purpose yards in offense against the USC trojans? That is insane... I think he had more then 70% of USC's team put together didn't he? Leinart had 360, white had 120, bush had 80 and the rest of the team was barely anything. That would put them around 650 yards versus vince 480...I am probably way off but it sure felt that way...Anyway, much props to my man VY, he still held it together and kept childish in the end. You could tell he was just happy to be the champs...he didnt say anything about the heisman...even though I think about 75% of the people who thought bush was the best took a BIG turn after the game. Their was no comparison whatsoever, it was like bush was a div2 running back and vince was a NFL 1st string QB...I would guess bush had a very bad day, maybe didnt train like he should have for the last month. VY sort of deserved the heisman since he was not a highlite reel, he just really holds his team and plays really well. He also rushes for almost as many yards as bush does and he isn't even a damn running back, that is the thing I try to tell people all the time. He is a QB and shouldn't be breaking tackles and running for 20 yards againt the #1 team in the nation, especially on 4th and 5 while losing the game. He just pulled out the shit on that one didn't he?

That was probably one of the best, if not best, college football game I have ever seen. I graduated high school in Texas, lived in Austin for 9 years, and was accepted to Texas Tech and Texas A&M (College Station). Texas is in my sports blood through and through.
I have always been a Dallas Cowboys fan. I miss the Houston Oilers.
I was glad when the Houston Rockets took back-to-back championships during Jordan's short retirement party.
I am a hardcore Texas Rangers fan. They paid too much for A-Rod. I miss Nolan Ryan.
I was at the Game 7 Conference Final where I saw my Dallas Stars lose to the Colorado Avalanche (I thought I was gonna get killed in Colorado and wanting Dallas to win).
In my extensive NBA jersey collection, I still have a Jason Kidd Dallas Maverick Jersey (I am pissed he had to share the co-ROY award with G. Hill). I even have a Dennis Rodman Dallas Maverick jersey, even if he only played 26 games for them.
The only things I do not like about Texas are Tim Duncan, Greg Popovich, and Jerry Jones.

I have to admit Texas is an amazing place. I have traveled ALL over the world and still never thought any less of Austin. I have not only visited but truly experienced (which means for many weeks, not days) new york, LA, seattle, toronto, vancouver, orlando, vegas, and many other cities and austin still seems to get a little better. Texas as a whole is a great state but austin makes texas much better. I would place Vancouver canada right up their with austin, but a big chunk of it is the hot chick factor..But my longhorns which I have been pulling for for many many years have finaly come through, and in some serious style. I would never have guessed that game would be like it was...I have talked to literally 100 totally different people about that game and all 100 people said that was absolutely the best football game they have ever seen. I think that will be a game to go down in history for sure, luckily my longhorns were involved in it! FOUR people/groups held that game together- vince young, his defenders, Texas's defensive line, and lastly david thomas, VY's faviorite reciever during the game who was like 18/18 for some serious 1st down's which are the main point of football, other then the actual scoring. But as for VY, the guy was a monster, if he plays that way for the rest of his life we are all looking at a joe montana and a ricky williams put together. No interceptions, no fumbles, no sacks, 270 or 280 passing yards with the highest passing percentage in the nation and 200+ RUSHING yards as a QB in one single game while playing amongst the #1 team in the nation...not to mnetion 3 Touchdowns and a 2 point convert, and the list goes on and on. He was damn near...flawless and not even at his best, he could have done better.

In Texas and giving another Texan shit? That's messed up! I don't eat wheaties but am gonna start once Mack hits the cover...Don't quote me on this (the following)...but I am told that Vince Young is going to announce tomorrow that he is playing for UT next season and that the filing for NFL quarterback will be a fake, and was just a joke...I don't know if this is true but if it is, then the whole world will turn upside down for a day or two. University of Texas at Austin- The Longhorns -are amazing...what an amazing group of athletes, and an amazing game that was played...stopping lendale white from making a 1st down with less then a yard to go...insane! almost 500 yards offense for VY, I cant get over it!!!

Oh I hope he plays college one more year! He would do such amazing stuff as a college player...I would love to see highlight reels all next season. I think he almost came out of his shell in that rose bowl game. It would be great to see what he could do now that he found out his superman powers...It would be like throwing a seasoned NFL QB into college football with the best defense in the nation and saying "go have fun and kick everyones ass"

Vince Young being offered lots is an understatement...think 40 million dollars in contracts, not including commercials, and the way most ball players make most of their money, all the extra stuff other then paychecks...he will be in the hundreds of millions in no time. His stock is worth more then leinhart and bush right now. He has bushs rushing numbers and leinarts passing numbers...think over 1000 rushing yards in one season and tons more passing, not to mention the highest rated passer in college football, even higher then matt leinart. His pass percentage is the highest in football, with the highest rushing numbers to boot.
