In cases like this, the author usually hasn't changed anything -- has taken no action for the pics to be down -- but something else has happened, e.g. running into a bandwidth limitation, account being cancelled, or some such thing.

The Tach is the least interesting thing I look at on this bike. As Mr Kawasaki once said "If you can read this Tach yer too much of a pantie waist to ride this 10R to it's limit"

For years assholes in charge of packaging motorcycles have tinkered with replacements for analog tachometers. Their failure to improve on the design has been as universal as it has been miserable. Is it too much to ask that the lesson could be learned? Why is it the slow poser idiots get their wishes granted with heavy, power robbing underseat pipes and blingy, hard to read tachometers? If Kawasaki wants to compete in the arena of performance, how about building a no compromise performance bike? They have plenty of slow, heavy, ugly motorcycle designs they could pull out for the latte and leather crowd. They could sell ZX9's to Sirsoft and Depends all day long, just put a shitty tach and 50lbs of tortuous plumbing on it.

Contrary to popular belief it is far easier to read a digital display than an analog. only the briefest glance will tell you exactly what you are doing with a digital readout. Where the analog requires much more concentration. IMHO
I love the digital speedo, clear and you know instantly how fast you are going.

So Mr. Kawasaki is married to Mama K? I had no idea Mama K was married?

The R1 has the easiest tach to read when on the bubble; hands down. The 10 is definetly not the easiest to catch a glimpse of. Drag Racing, probably doesn't make much difference as you are basically sitting there looking straight ahead. Roadracing/Canyon Carving, it makes a difference (if you're going fast). You're moving around on/off the bike alot and you just want to be able to catch a peek or glimpse. With the R1, it's easiest. With the 10, it's not nearly as easy. Of course this is just another opinion....

analog is much easier to read.... you don't have to look directly at it.
your eyes can pick up the needle sweep and position while you are focusing elsewhere..

That is only partially true. Looking at a needle will give you an very rough estimate of the data, like you may be able to tell if you are half way through the revs or if the gauge has some color you may see when you are close to red line. Other than that you have to tocus on a moving target to find the actual data. My car has both a digital display and what is considered one of the best analog speedos on the market. Granted the digital speedo is on the windshield and larger and projected out in front ot the car. I did some experiments and turning my head so I would have to shift my eyes to the the digital and comparing that to reading the analog. The digital was at least 3 times as easy.
Just look at the 10 vs the 12. you don't have to focus on the speedo on the 10, you glance at it and return your attention to the road, the image is still in your mind and you know exactly how fast you are going. where to read the tach you have to focus on those little numbers.
