Latest Roadracing World has 2006 10R review

The latest Roadracing World has a 2006 ZX-10R ride review, based on testing at Kawasaki's newly purchased track in Japan.

Good read. Much too long to type out.

Quick summary: much better power down bottom and midrange, same power on top. Really great throttle response. Equally agile but much more refined, better-operating, smoother, more trustworthy. Considerably faster around the track than the 2005 ZX-10R. Braking upgraded with radial master cylinder. They really liked it a lot. The only objection seemed to be that the 300mm rotors may in their opinion under racing conditions only be barely adequate to absorb all the heat in some conditions, though they didn't report fade at that test track.

yep - read it the other day. i cant believe kawi got such an AMAZING deal on buying that track after all those real estate investors dumped so much money into it.

there was another new article in one of the racing mags about the new 10r. it even had a pic of 10r's in japan coming off the assembly line - kinda cool i thought.

i want mine now!

trenace, is ur casa going to own an 06 10r?

Probably not but maybe, it does sound very impressive and maybe will look a lot better with an aftermarket pipe, maybe even non-undertail. There's issues both of just how crippling taxes will be, plus the issue that at my age (43) I really ought to get serious about investing money instead of just passing it through the hands. Bummer.

I shouldn't have used that word, though it means only house with no implication of size or quality, perhaps people interpret it that way nonetheless but that was not intended -- my house is nothing outstanding, it was just a figure of speech.

'05 will do everything on the street an '06 will do based on what I've read. And that way you can keep the saving to go toward the '07RR...
