Will history be kind to the 04/05 ZX-10R?
With the "new and improved" ZX-10R out of the gate for 2006, how will the 3rd gen ZX-10R from 2004-2005 go down in the history books?
It put Kawi back on the map for the era of liter bikes, while R&D continued (hence the new 14).
Good and bad? Your thoughts??

I think it'll be a classic icon, like the GPz1100, the Ninja 900, the Z1.
Model names anyone serious in motorcycling for more than three months knows.

Too short of a tenue to be considered an icon, in my opinion.

I think it will be remembered as one of the most violent bikes ever made...and the 04-05 10R riders will be looked at as maniacs in a few years. Which is good.

I don't know about you guys but speaking for myself my 05 will be remembered by many who will fall victom to it
And Beans don't go useing those words New and Improved just yet.. That huge step forward just may be a huge leap back from the 04 and 05s. Time will tell

In spite of only a two year production span, I think the '04 - '05 ZX10R will go down as a bench mark motorcycle. Petal brake rotors, radial mounted calipers, slipper clutch, lap timer, awesome power, take no prisoner looks and winner of back-to-back Masterbike shootouts. Hell yeah, there is no doubt it will be fondly thought of years from now.

I think the 10R will be remembered as a bike not for the faint hearted or inexperienced but a bike that rewards a skilled rider and never ceases to surprise you with its ability to carve through the opposition when treated right.
I have had a number of other guys I ride with who all own litre class bikes that have ridden my bike on an exchange, only to hand it back with bug eyes and a nervous twitch!
This is what the 10R is all about its a bike you ride "Not just sit On" like so many others in the same class, sort of like the old 2 stroke tripples ( if you are old enough you know what I mean ) now they were scary!
