Grumpy Old Man
I had to go to Lowes this weekend to get some plumbing supplies for a project that I am doing for my garage. I figured that I could get everything that I needed in my tank bag so I rode my bike. I was getting close to the store and I was in the left lane and had to turn right to go into the parking lot. There was a long line of traffic up to the light where I had to turn. I put my turn signal on and found a gap in the traffic so that I could change lanes. The spot I found was plenty of room my bike and the traffic was going slow (about 25 mph). I turned my head over my shoulder to show the driver in the right lane that I was going to come over and then I changed lanes. After I got over the van I just pulled in front of blew his horn. I just ignored it and figured it didn't matter since there was plentty of room and I didn't hurt any thing. At the light, I turned into the parking lot. I looked in my mirror and the van pulled in behind me. There are other stores there and I was hoping that it was just a coincidence. I drove half way across the parking lot and the van stayed behind me. I was hoping that he would turn and park but he didn't. Then I stopped at a stop sign and looked in my mirror. The van stopped right behind me and the old man that was driving got out and starting yelling at me. Well with me being a little hard hearing and having a helmet on, I could not hear anything that he said. I was not mad, actually I thought it was kind of funny that someone would get so bent out of shape for something so small. I turn around and looked at the guy and then grabbed my front brake and started to light the rear tire and leave his van in a cloud of smoke. I know it was a little immature but I figured if the gut was going to be mad why not make him even madder! I then pulled forward and left the parking lot. I decided to go to Home Depot instead. Anyway there was no way I was going to leave my bike alone in that parking lot with that lunatic!

I like your solution. But you should have stayed with the original plan and went to Lowe's. Then if the jerk approched you tell him you were going to call the cops on him for following too close and agressive driving.

Having a bike stolen this year, I really don't want anything to happen to this bike. Home Depot was only about half a mile away so it was just as easy to go there. I also would rather not get the police involved. That can be a real pain if it goes to court.
