Chiming in from China
Here at the Hyatt here in Beijing, Smoggy, foggy and in jet lag hell. Just thought I would check in and see what is going on in the real world. And not looking forward to the 18 hour flight home on Thursday.

Well after a brutal 20 hours in an airplane, I am home again. I was there 8 years ago and things have changed. The place is very western now, everyone has a cell phone and the traffic and smog would blow your minds. Almost every sign is in English and Chinese, Lots of Mercedes, Audis, Hyundais, Toyotas, Buicks, Caddies, etc. And yes, Eric there are hookers, plenty of them in the hotels. The hotels are damn nice, some are stunning. All the up front staff speaks English, the malls are full of western products. All the roads are smooth and clean, not a speck of litter, I went there on business and didn't have much time to sight see. Mostly meetings and jet lag.

No wonder Our gas is so high these days  Can't someone make them have those little human powered carriages again?

Well not in China, but here in Bellingham WA. The closer you get to Canada the slower people drive.
