Extended Warranty Cost and First Service
I just got a quote from a local shop for a 2005 ZX-10R in Titanium. Sweet looking bike! The deal is $8298 plus title/tax/plate for an out the door price of $8940. I'm thinking that I want to get the 24 month extended warranty. The price I was quoted was $440, but I'm sure that's full retail with LOTS of margin. What did you guys pay for it?
I'm also curious about the first service. I know it's probably just an oil change and a quick look over the bike. How much are dealers charging for this service? What mileage is it at? 500? 600?
My plan is to offer the shop $9000 for the bike with a 2-year extended warranty and the first service (parts and labor) included in the price. I'm just wondering how much people actually pay for those two items so I can get a clue as to how much I'm asking them to move on the deal.
Thanks! I also got an insurance quote from State Farm for $331/year for full-coverage with a $500 deductible. That rocks!

I was quoted cheaper for the extended warranty from Tim at Pueblo Motorsports out of Colorado - call him and tell him Daniel McIntosh from Washington sent ya and I guarantee he will be able to beat the warranty price.
In the PNW region, the first service on the 10R usually costs $150-180 at the 600 mile mark.
Buy the bike with no extended warranty - get that afterwards.
