Jardine or Muzzy slip-on?

I want to buy a Jardine or a Muzzy slip-on...Jardine oval race baffle bolt-on or the muzzy oval slip-on pipe. Both at great prices. I am close on both, let's get some input from you guys...only input on these pipes also, not others. What you guys think? I also have the option of a ti-force all ti full system for $600 in flawless condition with about 1500 street miles on the pipe but I will have to dyno it and all I gain is top end and the low and midrange will stay the same, might even drop a little...plus is it really worth it for like 6 or 7 rwhp up high in the band? I mean I am already lifting the wheel in 2nd and I am 250 pounds...no need for more power without extended swingarms and dropping the bike which sucks..

not sure if it's the jardine race baffle or not .. i'd have to check with KB on that one...... they are both ti- oval units...

fit and finish is comparable between the two.. Muzzy was "raspier" if that makes any sense... Jardine seems to be a little deeper in sound. rubber gasket on the hanger on the jardine fit a bit better.

Muzzys had the stepped mid pipe with franken-welds that looked pretty cool and changed color after a few heat cycles.. some members liked this, some didnt... Jardine mid pipe was a taper bend, no welds...

Muzzys retained the exhuast gasket between the header and the slip on so you have to very carefully remove it from the stocker and reuse it... jardine went straight on, no gasket.

Muzzy seemed to run well with map provided in pcusb, and also on its own... Jardine seems to run better with no map (currently runing a zero map equivalent of no pcusb installed.)

it;s a bit of a tossup.. they are both sponsors of this site... I;d say give 'em a call and tell them you;re a member and you saw their ad and see who gives you the better deal?

Well I am already getting good deals for both so thats why I am so hung up. I heard something about being able to take out the core on the muzzys for a fun ride and then pop it back in to return to normal (screwed nuts instead of permanent tabs). I can get a brand new muzzy oval polished aluminum muffler with stainless mid-pipe for $270 shipped out the door. Which if you know is very cheap, even though the stainless mid-pipe kinda sucks, but its not that bad for such a cheap price. The Jardine race baffle is a polished oval bolt-on so I would use the stock titanium mid-pipe and I am gettint the jardine brand new for $160 shipped...so as you can see they are both great prices. I have a very good map from muzzy for the muzzy pipe, which was tuned by rob muzzy and some other well-known tuner with ram-air and everything on the dyno. For the jardine I would have to find a decent map or run it without the map. Can't make up my mind...? Also, does the stock mid-pipe turn blue at all after a while since its titanium? I have run aftermarket pipes since I bought the bike. Also, k bryant- if the stock zx10 mid-pipe doesn't turn blue after a while can it be turned a bit blue by using a fire or torch to give it a bit of a blue tint, like some of the cool aftermarket pipes?

Did you find a place that sells those muzzys for that price or is it something local. I would be interested in buying one if its a place that sells them for that.

nope, the muzzy is a shop yes, the jardine is from a guy who sells jardines privately (he used to work for a dealer and I think he bought a bunch at cost or something) let me know which muzzy you want and I can get a price for you.

I have seen pictures in the magazines where the mid pipe turned blue from use. My pipe stayed the same color after 10,000 miles of use. I don't really run my bike hard so I think that may have something to do with it. If I was to guess, if you run the heck out the bike and get the pipe good and hot then yes it will turn blue.

I've got the Muzzy slip-on and I love the sound. The only other slip-on I might try next time would be an Area P.

I hear good things about the area p, but I am looking in the under $300 range (pretty much used or new but never used). The muzzy is a great pipe, the jardine isn't that great but has a nice grumble to it...So far my faviorite is the M4 carbon high-mount...sick pipe and sounds beautiful, looks awesome and has some very good workmanship...I also happen to like the quality and coat of the carbon fiber they use...after many miles and a year of riding in the 100 degree humid texas sun, the pipe is glossy and still looks 3 dimentional, just gorgeous...I get alot of people who make comments on how good the carbon fiber looks...The sound is mean, almost like a v-twin but gets real loud and has a deep scream up abover 6-8k rpm, with a little less popping sound...I am used to D&D's which is why I am thinking about getting the muzzy, which has a loud screaming sound, but not as crappy as the D&D sound...If you get the M4, have it mapped, the M4's make a ton of power for a slip-on...I heard 3 rwhp more then an akra or arata slip-on once dyno tuned...which is a BIG difference.

Always nice to hear people like our product or "hear good things".

Only one comment, though you "heard" the M4 will make "3 rwhp more then an akra or arata slip-on once dyno tuned", that is simply not a fact. Hopefully you want to read credible info, not hearsay. On the dyno, the M4 makes about 3.5 hp/1.5 tq with their standard mount. Their high mount makes less, because in my opinion, the s-bend/mid-pipe is simply too long. Overall good pipe and their power increase on the standard mount slip-on is in line and/or slightly lower than other brands.

Yeah, I have no real proof, other then a guy who had both pipes. He is the only person who told me that...He had his bike with a akra slip-on and the bike had like 6k miles and it dynoed at like 152 or somethin like that and then after like 500 miles he sold the slip and ran a 154.9 on the same dyno with a new M4. He also said the humidity and temp were the same both days (actually the new dyno run was just 2 weeks after the first run with the akra...He told me like 100 times M4 makes tons more power...I guess every bike and every slip-on is different so just 1 person who dynoes on the freaky side doesn't represent everyone else. I do LOVE the area p and love the sound, the looks, the everything but just a little out of my price range...I mean you all did see my post for a "WTB: used area p" but I only found two guys, and they both already had buyers, so I will wait until someone else wants to sell their area p, and in the mean time pay $250 for someother slip-on and sell it for the same price I bought it for...I just have to limit myself to some # or else I would be riding the duc 999r, not the zx10r...What I really want is the polished buffed mid-pipe carbon 15" slip with the big core and the carbon exhaust hanger with the carbon heel guards all for like...hmmm, let's say $400 bucks? Hehe, I dream a little

Cool. I actually have the exact set-up you are asking for coming back from a magazine photo session. They mounted the components, but did not run them. So essentially they are brand new. I don't know exactly when they will be returning them (probably towards the end of November), but if you want them, $400 plus freight and they're yours. So.... your dream has just come true.

We offer these kinds of deals from time to time on photo , magazine, R&D, dyno pipes, etc.
