Some new gears on the 10 Thought I would share some info on the gearing I just switched to this weekend. I took her 1 down and 1 up in the back. HOLY HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This thing went from a PUSSY CAT! to a FUCKING ANIMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally unbelievable the effect this change had on the 10.

Wow, if your in 3rd, thats like over 120 or some shit isnt it? Is that even possible? You sure its not just your shock giving way, making you feel like its wheelieing

The shock going away would make liftingthe front more difficult.

where did you get the sprockets?
how much were they?
and where does the spedo signal come from?
is it on the front wheel, or on the countershaft sprocket
if its on the sprocket do you have to use an oem sprocket w/ the holes for it to work or not and will the spedo display fast or slow after you regear

Dude...
The magnetic sensor for the speed signal is off the output shaft of the tranny. So yes, the sprocket changes outlined above result in an speedo error of prolly greater than 15 percent. Speedohealer or Yellowbox can fix that right up.

My local tuner just ordered me his recommended sprocket set-up for this bike... down one front, and up TWO rear. Seemed kinda steep to me though. Gunner - Do I understand u to say my stock chain will not fit with this set-up?

NO it won't reach at + 2 in the rear. Mine at -1 + 2 is completely forward. It's pure luck that it has enough slack for this but it's perfect . I haven't put enough miles on this set up yet to say YEA or Nay. It's a huge leap forward on the gears for sure.

Gunner - u said in the first post that yours is ONE up in the back, and one down in front... but the last post said you were plus TWO in the rear (which is the combo Im looking at). Is that a typo up top, or on the last post? thanks

I put a 16T on the front of mine and I didn't like it at all. It revved to much when going highway speeds and was really annoying. I only rode it to work one day and put the stock sprocket back on. Between the screaming, speedometer being off and the lower gas mileage, I didn't think it was worth it. I do ride my bike to work every day though. If I was riding on a track or just occassionaly then I might think otherwise. For anyone that was wondering, the sprocket I got was a Renthal sprocket and it seemed to be a good quality sprocket. I guess I will have to E-bay it to get some of the money back.
