10R frame sliders - cut vs no-cut?
Looking for recommendations on frame sliders for my 10 - this is my first track bike and want to help it with frame sliders. I see tons on them on Ebay, and motorcycle sites. Even Muzzy has "no cut" frame sliders listed - are these as good as the "cut" style? They seem like they would bend or move when abused. I see $60 units on Ebay that claim they are what pros use, then Muzzy has overpriced units (IMO) for $140. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought some on Ebay for about 40 or so. Have not put them on yet, so I really can't say how good they are.
One of the guys on .net sells some that all the members say worked good. Champ91 I think is his board name....he has a website you can visit to look at them.

I got mine from Champ91, and I think they are the Best. They are no cut, dual frame points, I have to think they are much more stout because of that feature although I haven't wreaked my stuff so I really don't know.

A no-cut slider is for posers who drop their bike in the parking lot at bike-night. For the track you want the real thing. Muzzy's original offering was a slider bolted into a tapped hole in an aluminum plate. Snapped like a twig when they they hit the ground at any speed. I'd say that co.s credibility on frame sliders is pretty well shot. Think about what you are doing: Trying to protect critical components not easily replaced at the track. You want the slider bolted directly to the forward-most engine mount. Look at the various offerings and consider what will happen when they hit the ground (imagine hitting the slider side-on with a 15lb sledge). You want the base of the slider to be as wide as possible, and the body of the slider to be mostly plastic. With luck the thing will have enough strength and flex to take the initial hit, and enough meat to last the slide. Cutting bodywork on the 10R is super easy. You can fit a transfer punch in the engine mount hole and reach it with your fingers to mark the inside of the body panel for a drill center. Almost easier done than said. A set of cheap chinito transfer punches is like $5 at Harbor Freight, and a hole saw isn't much more. Besides, if you plan to spend much time at the track you'll need to learn to use tools. Enjoy.

Love my Champ91 sliders. No cut and built to take a hit or two. BTW his service was fast and he's been posting over on another ZX-10 boards that he has them in stock. $80 well spent

my slider are from LP, they are no cut, adn saved the fram and vital when I high sided the bike in the mountains of North Georgia, If I had to do it again I would go with a dual point mount base style, like the Muzzy an Champs.
When I crahed the base did get bent, which was ecpected, but the base stayed in tact and did its job........I believe a dual point base would resist the impact better....
As far as cut no cut......as long as its a good quality product I dont thinnk it really matters.....personally I am NOT cutting plastic for a set of sliders......

Bovine- Your info is incorrect. We had a customer crash using our original design. They did not snap like a twig. The weak point was that there was not enough thread contact and the bolt pulled out of the threads after sustained contact with the ground. When we talked to the customer and received his damaged parts we did some testing and came up with a simple way to improve the strength in that area. We then sent the improved parts to all customers that had purchased the original design. The current design has been very successful in protecting the bike. We have sold replacement parts to many happy customers that have tested them.

wecome red....if I had it to do over again, I would have a set of Muzzys sliders on my 04 10. They are a bit more than other sliders, but worth it IMO...

Thanks for the props guys. Unfortunatley or fortunatley, depending on your view point, I have had several "Testers" to prove my sliders do the job.
*Mods - Delete if necessary - but it was asked not open advertising*

Pulled out or snapped like a twig, we're arguing semantics. It is, however, reassuring to know you will replace your faulty stuff with something that actually works. Kudos.

I don't sweat this "notjeep" character. A new 10R does not suddenly make you a fast rider.

You need to cut if you want to save the tank.
