What the 06 10R should have looked like.
Kawasaki Should've gone with a design similar to the 05 ZX6R
Lights could've look like this.

Overall look would have been like these.

The lower fairing on this one hides the mid section of the exhaust system.

I like the new look, but it could've been better.
What do ya'll think??

A lot of the ugliness being suffered now is due to the under-motor cats preventing the more-elegant bellypans.
The 14 would also look a lot better with a lower fairing / bellypan like the 12's... but it's unreasonable of me to criticize Kawasaki too hard for the 14's bellypan being so open and to say they "should have" done differently, because they had to meet the Euro exhaust regs whereas I'm not subject to realities like that. However, if I had the bike I personally would want to change that aspect of it if I could.
On the lights, if the 14's lights outperform the 12's and weigh no more or less, then they are OK with me.
On the 10, it's only the exhaust that I dislike, and since swapping exhaust is pretty par for the course anyway that seems no big deal.
I do like the lights you 'chopped into there, preferring them to the new lights, but again if it turns out that the new lights perform better then I wouldn't go too far with that. I would have to see them in person before coming out against their appearance, myself. My guess is that they will "wear" quite well with time, whereas though the above 'chop looks very good, it may also look "old" in a year or two.

I like the new lights because it makes the 10 look completely different from the 6. I hate it when manufactures make their 600s and literbikes nearly identical, like the old zx6s and zx9s, and all the gsxrs. It used to make me nuts when people would ask if my 9 was a 6 and I had to point out the difference.

Since I removed all the decals off of my 10R, I kinda chuckle when they ask if it is a 600. Often, I'll just say yeah it is a 6R. I've been tempted to put 636 stickers on it.

I though about putting 600 stickers on each side of my 12...
