We won't know the actual weight or hp until a mag/internet roadtest. Until then we have to chew on advertised propaganda such as dry weight figures where they weigh the bike without any fuel, motor oil, fork oil, shock fluid, brake fluid, battery, tool kit, seats, bodywork, but with plenty of helium in the tires. And don't get me started on the buuuuullshit hp they obtain at the valvtrain with 700MPH winds jammed into the throttle bodies.

Actually there was in interesting little item in Cycle World a while back saying that what "dry weight" is is actually design weight.

Dry weights are published before production bikes have even ever been made.

This is possible because the engineers know what the weight is supposed to be of each of the parts.

Add up all the parts, and you have the design weight, but misleadingly called "dry weight." It is dry, as it doesn't include fluids, but it's more than just dry, it's rather this sum of parts rather than an actual production motorcycle.

This is why the values are sometimes so far off.

You have to wait for the company to publish a "curb weight" value before you have have what they are saying is the weight of an actual production motorcycle (in this case, also with fluids.)

Actually at this point it's very possible the bike is not completely finalized. Even Kawasaki may not know absolutely exactly where it's going to turn up at. Stuff like the mapping could potentially be ongoing right up to only days before the first bikes have to head out to the dockyards. Even things like the CNC head porting could possibly be adjusted between then and now if they saw fit (and at least if this bike is like the last 10R, there is some CNC work with the head porting.) Or is it impossible that cam duration, lobe centers, exhaust tuning, and so forth might be tweaked in the next couple of months?

I would bet they know the final outcome within 3 or 4 hp, maybe even closer, but not necessarily the full shape of the graph, if any changes are made between now and then.
