Sometimes manufacturers will talk about improvements and make changes for the sake of change. So if the bike performs only as well as its predecessor then all that is left is looks. Street bikes should look good, hell, race bikes should look good. No reason one can't have both. Leathers should look good also.

I really don't have an opinion on the bike, until the motor numbers are released. I am not overly excited about the under tail exhaust. I think it's something that works better for the road racer type. I am sure the standard exhausts will still work on the bike for us drad racers. I do know you lose pwr when exhaust heat has a longer travel time, but on the other hand, those gases can be speeded up to increase power. The look is cool. I would like to see the lower fairing on my 05 with a slot cut for the exhaust

"I never realized so many sportbike riders made their choice of motorcycle purely on looks.
Kinda sad really."
Well, I must be shallow as looks are important to me, but, I love the buzz of riding a mean bike when everyone else is scared of it because it doesn't have a steering damper etc. So, going as quick as I can, which probably isn't really that quick, but enjoying it none the less, and in my opinion, on a mighty fine, damn good looking bike is not sad. Anyhow, I have friends who only want to look good and have 2 inch 'ckicken strips' on the tyres so maybe you are right.

How the heck do various Honda racebikes make power? Even snakier exhausts in many cases.
I think that is majoring on minors, worrying about that. I was always dubious on it; K Bryant (I believe; I apologize if I am confused on the particular expert source) recently posted that the endpipe turns are a non-issue (not the exact words) in his experience.

Then you wouldn't like me because my trackbike and my leathers are scarred to hell and back. But I can't seem to notice it when I'm actually riding the thing so maybe I'm just retarded?
Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna buy a Harley and idle around some parking lots so I can look good like I "should" be doing.

I'll stick with my 04, but it will be fun to run against one when they come out.

So do most or all Sidewinders... so which is wrong, the design or the idea that smooth bends are so terrible?

That is not what I was saying at all. There is nothing wrong with having a good looking vehicle. Most of us ride on the street, and lets face it a ZX10 is a stunning performer on the street. So it has plenty of room to look good. Where a Harley has no performance to speak of and all it has is looks to go on. Personally I think Harleys are butt ugly. Look at MotoGP bikes, those are some awesome looking bikes and the riders wear trick looking leathers.
