so honestly, what does everyone think about the 06??
me personally im not sure, maybe it will grow on me. I was kinda hoping for my first glance to be the same as it was for the 04, but i dunno, it's just not what i expected. I Hope it will grow on me, i am definitly a die hard kawi fan.. i guess we'll see after i ride one.....but that exhaust has definitly got to go

When I first saw the pics yesterday, I nearly puked. Gross! This thing looks hideous. I sincerely mean this when I say I felt sick to my stomach, just didnt know what the hell Mr. Kawi was thinking. Whatever!
Last night, I was talking to LRG off the forum around two in the morning, and I was posting up the 60 some pictures of the 10R, and we were going through the pics and it slowly started to grow on me.
Now, I absolutely love that bike! In so many ways.
I was looking at the 2005 R1, and it is the same way, the exhaust looks too big because of the silver heat shields surrounding it, hell just remove those and put some aftermarket pipes and you're set on the rear setup. Rumors in the exhaust market is that they pipes can be flanged on (not springed on) so you may see normal side exhausts still made for it, which will connect with an included passenger footpeg/exhaust bracket.
The front of the new 10R...those bulbs I think are halogen (not HID), but I dont know for sure. I think we are all use to larger headlights, but that looks sick.
Speaking of asthetics: When the 999 first came out, I hated it! When the 05 GSXR1000 came out, I hated it! But once I saw them in person, and it grew on me, I love them both now!
For the 10R to address so many changes after a two year run, keep in mind this is a fourth generation model, Kawi has stepped up to the plate and handled every complaint or negative remark with this bike.

I don't like the pipes but like beans says just hit the aftermarket and it will look good. If the headlights are not HID then they are a waste. I don't like the way the lights look at all and the halogen don't hardly work any better than what we already have. The best thing about the 10 is its angular look, the 06s more curvy shape is a step backwards in styling IMHO. But lets face it a sports bike is about performance, and if the 06 is a huge difference it would easy offset anything it lacks in looks. But if it is only marginally better, I would opt for an 05 (green of course)

I Like it...I want to bring it to the Drag Strip and see how much better it is than the 04-05

It's one of the most butt ugly sportbikes I've ever laid eyes upon. But I shall return to the sportbike ranks in the spring, and an 06 will be my ride. It's all about track prowess for me. As long as Roadracing World and Sport Rider don't trash it, I'll be in line for one.

I think I want to look at the swingarm pivot, and then figure out if Roger Lee will race AMA superbike on it next year.

I'll bet (TEN) dollars he will be with Kawasaki, and also he will be on a Superbike ZX10R 06 no less!!

Also conrats goes to Tommy Hayden winning the AMA Supersport Championship and also Roger for winning the Superstock race and the Supersport race!! Those boys are something else! Especially Tommy with that bad broken hand!

I think the new ZX-10R is HOT! the pipes are ugly but there well be plenty of aftermarket replacements so that dont bother me that much...And all most everyone changes the pipes on any bike no matter what they look like now they'll have and reason to change them..

i dunno guys...got the pic of it on my desktop n everyday i come on its lookin better n better to me....jus thinkin bou how sexy it could look after those garbage cans on the back are changed. N the front, i dunno, sure we'll figure sumthin out

Aside from the cosmetics , with the little info thats been posted it appears Kawasaki took a step"s" towards trying to get on the AMA Superbike podium next year .
I look forward to a more indepth look that surely will be coming from one or all of the bike mags .
For now , it appears to be a better 10R no matter of the cosmetic appeal . Kawasaki never stepped backwards in the evolution of the 9R's . I expect same for 06 with the 10R

No, not for me, still think my '04 is the best looking bike out there...European version with neater indicators and no horrible reflectors...I thought some of Europe's rules were stupid but maybe they are not so bad after all?

To some looks are just as important as performance. I like to look good and go fast! around town you cant go fast so you may as well look good cruisin'.
