Ran up against an 05 GSXR 1000 today
Finally got an opportunity to ride with a guy on an 05 GSXR 1000. I was doing the truck route at Virginia City and when I got in the city (if you can call it a city) I was heading to get something to drink, I saw 3 Suzukis (2 750s and a 1000) going the other way. I thought about it for a while and then turned around. I was able to run down the 750s about 2/3rds of the way down and the 1000 shortly after. I went back up and they came a little later and we chatted. Then going back down we were playing a bit and I was able to easily run away. But what surprised me the most is when when we got to the freeway he hit it hard and I was easily able to reel him in and pass. His bike was bone stock except for tires, just like mine. I was expecting the straight up power run to be much closer.
Also I saw for the first time in my experience in Reno a guy doing a wheelie going the other way. Just cruising with the front wheel lofted at 70ish for miles. Right past the main
NHP station.

KHI has got it down and it does not show up on the dyno #'s

Sounds like Ted was trollin and caught a few fish..........LOL! Gonna hit the dyno monday in Sac for a tune up.

True true, but to hear the magazines tell it the Suzuki is faster.

Ted does this mean you believe everything you read? make no bones about it anything with GSXR on the bike should be taken seriously they make a great product, Kawi wouldn't partner up with just any old bike maker!
My experience is that other Jap bikes just lack the Animal the ZX range has and this I suspect has been the appeal to all who ride the brand hard to explain just like the feeling when the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.........I think its called BALLS!

I seldom believe what I read in the magazines. But you have to have a starting point. They say it is faster in the 1/4 and more on the dyno. But I should have taken their remarks with a grain of salt and understood their bias. Because in the same "Downs" that talked about the dyno and the 1/4 their last point was that the Suzuki didn't win their test. They wanted it to win, no bones about it. I just thought is would be much closer, now the truth comes through.

Ted........ I have a close friend that spanked a K5 with his 10R a couple of weeks back. I guess the 10 is just a little better!!!!!!!!!!

Another thing is that as the miles rack up the thing gets stronger and stronger(as people here were telling me when I first got it.) That combined with ram air and it is no contest. .
