How to beat a Busa

Thats my question- just picked up an 05 green mean 10R and need to know what's the best mods to do to it to beat a stock Busa that my friend is about to buy-- were all about top end so i need to do some mods before he does. one thing i would like to know is when this bike reaches top speeds- somewhere around 180 ish i think where are the rpms at-- i have not taken my bike to top end yet because it only has 100 miles on it-- tell you one thing it's got alot more power than the 99 ZX-9R that i used to own-- any input would be great..

thanks Jason S

Same ol story.....practice , practice, practice....
If you can get wide open in first before him,bye-bye. Busas aren't the unbeatable Kings of speed anymore, with bikes such as your own screamin around. I've got a '00 12 that runs very strong, but the liter bikes are so much lighter and have about the same hp. simple math...
Break that 10 in, practice a few launches, and spank that Bus.

You will have no problem beating the busa as long as its mostly stock just learn how to launch really good.

I have a zx12r 04 and I having a really hard time beating some of the new 1000's.
I ran a guy with a 04 yam 1000 in the1/4 tonight, it took me 3 tries before I got him , he could launch better than me and I could never catch him, plus my weight 250 him 150 and his bike is lighter.

Their is another guy with a 636 kawasaki that beats some of the guys on the 1000's its all in the launch and the weight.
Like 12r1 said (If you can get wide open in first before him,bye-bye Busa.)He will never catch you.

Thanks for the responses - i'm looking forword to racing the busa - i know practice makes perfect so i plan on practicing the launch-- the only problem is we will prob race from a good roll - thats why i'm asking about mods for increased top end - just ordered a carbon yoshimura slip on-- mainly for the sound-- if it helps out on top a little that will be good too-- does anyone know if i have to get a PC if i add the slip on ?and a race air filter? rather do some minor mods first before adding the PC - If anyone knows what mods are good and can be done without adding a PC please let me know-- thanks again

Jason leave it geared stock and do the hit in 2nd around 50 and you will pull away 2-3 bike lengths. The slip-on will reduce weight by bout 3lbs and if ya want it to perform well then yes install a PC3.
Get the Euro flushies.

you'll have no problem beating him from a roll. atleast i havent in the two i've raced both being close friends so i've been able to do it more than once on a consistent basis. 1 was stock and the other had a muzzy 4-2-1 exhaust, powercomander, and sprockets and i had no problem putting 3 bikes on the hopped up 1 from 70-170
