Paging Muzzys...
I bought some ZX-10R rearsets less than two months ago. I live in Bend and bought them through a local business.
In less than two months:
The left heel gaurd has cracked.
The right heel gaurd is so small that it gets caught on my boot and has almost caused me to drop my bike many times.
The pegs don't provide any grip and I've slipped numerous times.
The annodizing is rubbing off on both of them.
The shop I bought them from called you today and you pretty much told him "We have been using this design for years and there's never been a complaint. If he doesn't like them, sorry.."
I am suprised that you wouldn't back your product. Especially for a local customer who has stood up for you in the past and has backed your product since day one. I feel like I have been ripped off as I paid full retail for these rearsets and some parts are more flimsy than the stock components.
After the shop spoke with you on the phone, I tried adding some grooves to the pegs to provide more traction. It helps but it doesn't look good.

I would suggest that you call, or even drive over to the shop since you live in Bend.... why would you come on here and start crap instead of driving over to the shop and showing them? I am sure they would try and take care of you, or at least be able to evaluate your situation. you are going about this the wrong way first.

Geez... I kinda gotta agree with Mike on this one. How far can Muzzy's be from your house. If I had such a problem and they were less than 50 miles from my doorstep, I'd be standing at their's when the opened up for the day.

I'm not trying to start shit. Just trying to be noticed, thats all.
I've tried going to Muzzys before, they told me they don't handle walk ins and that I need to order through a catalog. So in my previous experience, I didn't feel welcome walking in there.

Golly, maybe he doesn't think a 100 mile RT was listed in the original invoice. Maybe he has a lot of history with his vendor and trusts them to accurately relay what Muzzy is going to tell him when gets there. What kind of Kool-aid drinking cultists are you guys anyway? Lose the halo effect, you sound delusional.

Bovine, have you ever been to Bend, you would be lucky to get a 25mile round trip anywhere.... and I dont care who it is, if you have an issue that is not solved and you show up at their door to get it fixed, they will usually take care of it. or tell you your a jerkoff and to get the hell off of their property. either way you have a direct answer and can take it from there. your not going in to "buy" something! your going in for a warrantee issue.

My mindless chatter is not worth much...I would recommend just emailing Rob Muzzy himself, but the last few times I tried to email him, I had my emails returned because his email box was too full. So I sent in an email from the Internet contact form marked at the top to Rob Muzzy, and someone else replied back giving me an off-the-wall answer that I wouldnt have expected.
On the other hand, back when Doug Meyer worked at Muzzys, he always responded within a couple days every time I got a hold of him and was always helpful every time.
Let us know how it turns out Jeff, I have faith in Muzzys to stand behind their product, and I sure hope this is another situation like that.

No. Never been to Bend. Dunno what you mean about lucky to get a round trip. Would never risk even a 5 mile trip when a phone call would do it. Seems to me the phone call was made and the victim is now asking the forum for a little help. Instead he gets the usual gaggle of obsequious Muzzy sycophants beating on him. You want this guy to drive 50 miles, walk into a business with his thumb up his ass and ask if they were serious when they told him to fuck off? WTF is up with that? Muzzy staff have monitored this site and His Holiness has even condescended to post on occasion. Let's hear their side.

I'm sure that Mike would agree that the thought of deleting or even editing you post would be the farther from either of our minds. I'd rather see it sorted out here.
As for being rabid Muzzy loyalists, that would be debatable. One must admit that there are few forums that have had active participation for aftermarket company principals and associates. Also, it is a given that the relationship of Muzzy products to Kawasaki would be similar to Yosh and Suzuki or Jardine/Two Brothers with Honda. Just because the help by sponsorship of this site hardly make it to were anything negative said would be deleted.
You stated that you have both visited their facilities, as well as had you dealer speak with them by phone. Both resulting in what you feel is unsatisfactory. Your approach of bringing it up here seems to be the next logical step and speaking for myself, I am happy that you have chosen to go this route in attempting to resolve your problem.
My past experiences with Muzzy's has almost always be more than satisfactory. On the rare occasions that I felt it was not, the issues I might have had were eventually resolved in what could be said in a timely manner. All in the nature of doing business with the manufacturer via distributors. Being a manufacturer myself, I might be a little more lenient that the average consumer. All the same, I enjoy my Jardine exhaust and Vortex rearsets (all of which I could have purchased similar products from Muzzys) just as much as I do my Muzzy damper.

Dude... ?????. .people call Muzzys out for problems here all the time, and NONE of it has EVER been deleted.
This is the weakest excuse for a complaint on the Internet I've seen to date... It's not like you;re a member in South Africa for fucksakes... SHit... you literally live right down the street... not only could you just go there and SHOW Rob yourself, but you could at least call.. it wouldnt even be long distance.
"I'd like to complain about my neighbour... he live two doors down... I have his phone # and I know he's home right now... I dont have the nuts to knock on his door and talk to him face to face.. so I'm gonna bitch on the INternet instead.

Fish, I know where it is and I have been there. Read my earlier posts about how they told me to go away. I was with the shop owner when he called Muzzys and they told him to go away.
How were your two last posts beneficial? You know, I started this post with good intent... but it is obviously going no where.
I was also saying that if you don't think this post is going to help, then delete it. Don't know why you got so uber-defensive.
So go ahead and jump on me again, it's OK I have thick skin.

look.. all I can say is that I if I was you I would call them directly... or go there.. your post says that your SHOP called them... you never spoke to them directly. So why are you here complaining? Why not cal them.. then if Muzzys tells you to screw off , start a thread about... trying to get the point across that you are putting the "cart before the horse" here...
You suggested that the site deletes or edits anti-Muzzy topics.... nothing could be further from the truth.

bovine, you do have issues... are you outlaw reincarnated....LOL... did someone from Muzzys shoot your dog???
zygoat, I must have misunderstood your post,
"I've tried going to Muzzys before, they told me they don't handle walk ins and that I need to order through a catalog."
I took this as you were trying to buy from them not ask about a warrantee issue, if it is the later, then I would have posted also....

No issues. Just don't see any reason to think Muzzy is anything more than just another vendor.

Wow!!!!!! I was informed of this customers problem yesterday. I instructed Curt to replace the damaged parts at no cost to the customer. We have used that peg design on our race bikes for 15 years. The riders, Russell, Chandler, Slight, etc. have been happy. Until now we have never had a customer complain about the grip of the peg. I suggested to curt that he tell the customer how we cut grooves in the pegs for added grip in the rain. There may be something else we could do for this customer if he needs more grip on the pegs. Since he lives in Bend seems like it would have taken less time to stop by than it took him to flame us here. MUZZYS is open from 7 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday for over the counter sales.

Perhaps, lacking your blind, missionary zeal as regards things Muzzy, he wants to see something actually happen. Normal people, when told to fuck off, are not placated by a paragraph.

OK, I need to jump in here because I'm the guy that owns the shop that Jeff bought the rear sets from, first off nobody ever told Jeff or myself to fuck off, that was something that was brought in a few posts later due to a misunderstanding of Jeff's post. so here are the facts in full -
First off Hi, first post here and to clear any bias towards or against Muzzy's I simply stand in the middle to try to bring the facts into this and stop the lame internet battle
*3/05 product invoiced & installed
*7/05 bike returns with list of complaints, pegs too slick, boot catches on right heel plate, left heel plate has cracked, anodizing is wearing off already. Overall not happy with rear sets and wants something done about it
*Same day I make the call to Muzzy's and talk to Curt, tell him what's going on and get the text book answer - if there is a problem with the workmanship or materials we will take care of it, if it's a design problem well that's the same design we have been using for years without complaints, we have had riders file groves into the pegs for extra grip in the past, but in our testing our riders have preferred a smoother peg so their feet don't stick to the pegs and tear up their boots. Sorry we don't offer another design peg that's all we have, as far as the cracking left heel plate bring it by so we can look at it, Rob is out of town till the end of the week and he is the only one that can authorize a design change if needed and that's where the call ended with myself relaying the info to Jeff
*Same day, Jeff has a 400 mile ride coming up with some friends and we try to make the pegs work for him, after some filing and not making it happen I opted to order another companies set of rear sets to get the show on the road
*7/22 8:57am, Rob Muzzy reply's to this post, about an hour later he's standing in my shop wanting to know who told me to fuck off and what's going on with these rear sets, myself not knowing about bikeland.org had no clue what he was talking about but I was pretty impressed he showed up to my shop resolve a customer issue (there is history with Rob and I and when we parted ways it was not on friendly terms, but we have both changed since then) after about a 45 minute talk I asked if he wanted to speak with Jeff directly? (bad move on my part, I should have just left good enough alone) He said no problem call him up, needless to say by the time Jeff showed up Rob had already canceled an appointment and had cell phone hell going on. After Jeff and Rob talked over the rear set issues Rob left with them and said he'd drop them off after some things got fixed, as it stands the rear sets are at Muzzy's and Jeff is awaiting the results.
