Lowering the front forks

Personally i like the look when the front end of a bike is droped a couple inches or so and i was wondering how you do that and if you loose any handleing by doing so. I know there are straps u can buy but those look kinda funky or if there is something you can adjust on the front forks that would work. If any of you guys know i'd be glad to hear from ya.

Dropping the fork has EXTREME affect on the bike's handling. An 1/8 of an inch would make a difference. A 2" slam would make it good for nothing more than straight line racing. Sure, the forks on our road race bikes are lowered quite a bit, but the fork internals have been change, we have rear shocks with adjustable ride height and we pay someone who specializes in suspension tuning a good chunk of change to make sure it is set up right.

It might look cool, but would completely ruin the razor sharp handling.

I have mine lowered about 2" inches in the front and about 2" in the rear,I personally like the low look,I do not like curve riding, where i'm from curve riding will get you f/up! to tell you the truth i don't know how my bike rides at stock height,i lowered it from the door.I guess it's how you'll be riding it,if you like curve riding i would keep it at stock height.

If you MUST lower the bike try to keep both ends as close as possible in reduction , this way you don't screw with the geometry as much and the bike should stay fairly stable after the changes .
