I started the ball rolling
The R6 was a good bike to start racing with, but I had a windfall occur, and I have the means to get the bike I'll race for the next few seasons (until the 10R gets the nod).
Monday I will return the paper to the dealer. I'm getting a Blue '05 6R for my new racebike. It's going to be here in about two weeks.
The R6 will go on sale locally first, then on WERA if it doesn't sell. I have two months before the next race in the SW, plenty of time to prep this bike (though it's like, 140' F in my garage...).
I shopped around, and laid my case out to the local dealers - I'm a racer, not asking for sponsorship, just want your very best price on the 6R, and I will take it home tomorrow in my trailer if you can come even close (within $150) to an internet price.
The best price I could get locally - even from a shop staffed by active racers - was six hundred higher OTD (they have to collect tax). I had a heart-to-heart with two shop owners, and they both told me they'd get much more selling to someone umm, more eager, than me.
So, internet sale it is.
And I will have to do something with the Yamaha pit shirt and hat.... Anyone want a slightly used (heavily sweated-in) shirt and hat?
