Although you have a point, he challanged me on that straight road, and I was dumb enough to take him up on it. I was hoping that after the straight run he would follow me to a turn off where it is very, very twisty and as lonely as it gets. No traffic, no nothing but twisty road.

you've tried that a few times in the past and since i haven't slowed down but a c-hair you may want to rethink that one as well :-)
BTW is the 12 stock??

The 12 has: no cat, timing advanced, k&ns, a few extra holes in the can, Race Tech gold valves, and good tires. Also the NASCAR type restrictor was removed.
BD we were coming back from Markleeville and our little race was going up the hill about 1.5 miles from the turn off to Diamond Valley road. I was hoping he would follow me there. The 10 really can chew that road up quickly, as you well know.

uuhhhhhhh brain fade for me on that one but all in good fun for sure as its always nice to get the adrenalin flowin once in awhile. Theres quite a few semi secluded spots for side by side spirited runs as well as twistie stuff so i'm sure one of these days we'll hook up.

Ted,
in OZ that little stunt would see you walking for a minimum of one month + a hefty fine to match and depending on the exact speed 6 demerit points, if you manage 12 points in 3 years you get to walk for three months and this counts on all forms of transport.
You have to resit your license and go through the whole probationary setup all over again can't recall the total fines for this exercise but I think it's in the $1,200.00. range.
A few years back had an early morning run up through the mountains on my 00 ZX9R came through a small town and just rolled throught the gears and kept building speed out the other side on a long straight, passed a white object on the side road at about 260+ turned out to be a sleeping Plod! What to do single lane road no off roads through the mountains for the next 40+ kms with a Police station at the next town........hmmmmmmmmm.
Did the only sensible thing kept my head down and my ass up and the throttle pinned he was in a pursuit car but didn't have a hope in hell of catching me..... no one waiting on the door step when I got home so I guess he didn't get the plate.
Now don't get me wrong I certinally don't condone this sort of behavior but it sure was fun looking in the mirror seeing seven shades of Shite coming off the rear tyres as he was trying to chase me. Some days you just get lucky........ truth be known I probably woke him up!

Got the letter yesterday with the fine amount ...$350. Going to take traffic school. Ah, the price one pays for being stupid. .
