One dead board.

This place is really dead. Was a time when Red, Fish, and Swft would usually have something to say about anything and keep a thread going. Kind of a lonely place around here.

Yup, you got that right Ted. I think that the board lived on the 12R, now that it is old news the interest has left the building. The 10R never has generated anywhere near the enthusiasim here that the 12R did. Either it is so good that there is nothing more to do to it, or ???

I have been away for a long time, sometimes you have to make some sacrifices for the family. I bought the 10 to force myself to take some time for myself and get away from work. I also decided to spend some more time on the boards. Then I come here and it is dead. Even on the 12 board we found all sorts of things to yak about, not only the bikes. We talked cars, tools, etc. Oh well.

Yep, I agree totally last year this board was a happening place. I started visiting the board alot again around March. My first thought was man this place is dead! We are almost in June and this board is still a bump on a log. Thank god for the zx-10r.net board.

Fish, the slot machine thang is going fine, Better than ever. We are making money on the stuff I invented. The problem is now I have to manage a huge project which involves dozens of engineers. And It is like a big babysitting job. Hopefully I will be able to take off an hour early tomorrow to get some more miles on the 10. I am up to 800. I am really looking forward to riding it full tilt.

I'm a little lonely myself, Ted. I think the 10 is just so good, and maybe a little hard to work on, that everybody just rides the damn things. There is still something about the 12 - that big lunge through 160 with the front wheel light but on the ground and your butt pinned in the seat that keeps my interest up......... :-)

in all seriousness, the 10R forum is slower than the 12R zone used to be, but that's partly cause the traffic is spread out among the forums a bit, particualrly the off-topic traffic which lives mainly in the Sportbike Zone and the Smack House. Also, things do always slow down a bit once a model has been out a couple years since most everything has been covered, plus as u suggested, the 10R just doesnt seem to see the same amount of mods that the 12R did.

oh, and as fish alluded to, traffic is actually up significantly over what it was in those days, just more lurkers for some reason.

Ted, I think you might be overlooking the fact that the riding season has now officially started for just about everyone everywhere. Just speaking for myself, since you were last here, I have added managing a CMRA endurance and sprint road racing team to my list of activities. We are in the middle of our season and I've already had to deal with a crashed R6 endurance bike and a blown up TZ250. Not only has it cut into my posting time, but my riding time as well.

Ah, but this forum (or the 12R forum either) ain't all about me (or fish), but Doug does kinda have a point. Though the liter bike class is extremely competitive, it is not like the 12R vs. Busa. It is almost like the 10R forum has become similar to the "library" the 12R forum was like at LABusa.

Since the season has just begun, "research" into performace and appearance mods are yet to have been done. Not to mention that this forum still has it's "purist" nature that the 12R forum has evolved out of.

Just a thought.

If you have played an IGT machine you most certainly have used my inventions. And since we enjoy an 80% market share around the world chances are that anyone who has played a slot machine has used one of my inventions or at least something I have helped develop.

Doug, long time...... I would have thought you would be on the 10 wagon big time, and I was hoping to learn from your experiences. I had to re-evaluate how and where I ride when considering the 10 and realized that 80% of my riding is in the mountains of NV and CA. Hmmm maybe it is time for a light bike. This thing is obscenely easy to ride. I am going to be able to step it up a couple of notches. Although so far I am missing the power of the 12. But it does seem to be getting better with more miles.

Red, BS I have been around long enough to know you are as verbose as they come and love to share your thoughts. I have read novels posted by you, and find it hard to believe that you have run out of things to say. Dead dog tired you have posted long winded, detailed episodes ot The adventures of Red Elk or how to complain about a motorcycle or shit in general.

I don't know how all of that Internet stuff works but could it be that some of the newbies can find other ZX10 forums easier if they go in and just do a search. I know that ZX10-r.net seems to be picking up new people all of the time. This has always seemed to be an extremely well informed group of enthusiasts. But it does seem to me that many of the core people are not posting as much.
