How does the 05 GSXR stack up?
I really don't follow the magazines all that much. I was wondering what Suzuki has done to counter the 10. Is the GSXR as hot or better?

Kinda splitting hairs. It's averaging about 2 hp stronger on top on our dyno and we've tested 3 different ones so far. But suffice to say it is a very strong runner and will give 10's fits.
On the street, same thing; kinda splitting hairs, but every single rider will have/make their own opinion: which is what makes all the open class bikes so dam cool and appealing at once! Choose your flavor and you can't go wrong with either. I've ridden one. It's definetly cool. I wouldn't run out and sell my 10 to get one.
In racing (roadracing) - well, the results speak for themselves in Superbike. In Superstock, the Yamaha & Suzuki appear to be consistently stronger than the 10. But that can change as the year moves along.

I sold my 02' ZX12R for a 05' GSXR1000 and the 1000 pull harder. 72 mile on it.

In the recent masterbike of the year 2005 contest the ZX 10R was the winner for the second time (it did so also in 2004) and it simply blew the new gixer away at the track!

funny as the race results seem to say otherwise.... (good example is the 1-2-3 at Infineon.... )

Talking unaltered road bikes here, not race-prepped bikes.

Talk about splitting hairs.

good reading. I agree, the tacho isn't the easiest to see. The other thing I agree with is the fun factor. ZX10R is exciting.
I've dragged a friend with a K5 which has a Micron Searpant full system on it. I have the Akra full and a 16T front sprocket.
The K5 changed sooner into 3rd and was a length in front, then I hit third and pulled past it going through the higher gears.

That has been a problem since the 70s. I was a Suzuki mechanic and frames breaking at the welds were a common warranty problem. That and cranks.
