Ohlins or Elka

Fellas,
I need some opinions on the Ohlins shock or Elka. I can get a pretty good deal on the Ohlins PRXLS or I can go with the Elka Triple adjustable for about $100 less. Have used Ohlins in the past with great results but was thinking about trying something different.

Any one out there with first hand knowledge of the Elka? Looking for thoughts/opinons on this.

I dont know much about the Elka...There is a reason why all the factory Pro RoadRace teams are using Ohlins!!!...Also using Penske!!!

The DragRacers are also using Ohlins and Penske...I know a few guys that tried the custom Fox, but now using Penske!!!

I have never heard of Elka. Ohlins or Penske is the only thing my little-experienced mind has been priveleged to.

I have purchased an Elka shock for my ZX10R (2way only). I was advised by the dealer that it was a better product for the money compared to Ohlins. Your not paying so much for the name yet!

He also rated it as a better built product, as they have been using them with their race team. Opinions aside, I have picked up good things about the Elka product and apparently their pricing structure is due to change (go up) as they become more establised.

Personally I dont think you could go wrong with either. Only shock I have been warned off was a WP.

If you like to be a little different get the Elka. If you prefere the everyone knows the name touch, then go Ohlins.

I will let you know what I think when fitted

I have the Elka triple and love it. I had the Ohlins on my 01 750 and this Elka is IMHO better in every way than that shock was.

There are quite a few European teams using the Elka now as well, from WSK, WSS, European supersport and superstock, as well as some Canadian superbike teams. The California Superbike School just did a deal with Elka to get them fitted to all of the schools bikes now too. So....Maybe it's worth the price to ya maybe not. But this was only my .02

Oh yeah and good luck bro.
