Exhaust Ouestion..
I thought I knew what I was getting. A Muzzy slip on; However, I have now started contiplating getting a full system. I don't want to loose any low-end however. I just received my powercommander and tre from Ivan yesterday. Is anyone hear running the muzzy full system? Is muzzy the way to go for power? Someone I work with just picked up an 05 gixxer 1000, and one of my good riding buddies got the cbr 1000r. The guy who got the gsxr is running his mouth already. I'am really stepping up this year. I just ordered a did 525 erv chain and afam front and rear. 17/41. I really want to pull some good numbers on a dyno run in june. I just use my bike for road riding ; no track racing yet. Any suggestions?

I'm not certain about this but I'm pretty sure Muzzy was actually involved with the design and production of our Kawa's lovely factory pipes. I'm kinda new, but seems to me like the quickest power mods most build with are a full system and air/fuel imput *Power Commander* I would imagine you could go with any number of brands for the pipe and get a decent boost, but you can't really go wrong with Akrapovic seeing that's the factory team's race system of choice. I don't really know much about gearing changes so you're already ahead there. You're buddy might have the newest power leader *still pending* but it's all about the rider right? Plus the Ninja looks way better, hehehe!

ya, I totally agree with you. Its all about the ride; and the 10 is a great looking ride. I have heard alot also about akra as well but from what i have read I think the muzzy system may be as good. I'am however totally open to suggestions and feed back. From what I have been reading on gixxer.com the 10 is definately going to have a full plate this year with the k5 gixxer.

Look at the attack bikes and other big name racers on the ZX10, what are they running? there is a reason they are running those pipes. Of course those guys arent looking for just HP, they are also looking for a nice HP curve adn good tuneability. ( I.E. no big flat spots).
If i am not mistaking Attack is using the Arata, and there are Akros on the Hayden brothers bikes. Not sure about those though.
As far as your buddy on the Gixxer, even if he gets more HP than you.....can he use it all? My stock ZX10 is plenty fast enough for me, and being someone that isnt In HP numbers as much as lap times, i got all I can handle and then some. Do some suspension work nad make your bike handle better and go spank his ass around every corner.....JMO

HDL,
You're right there is a reason. It's all about who struck the best deal. It's always about the corporate "marketing partner" and THE $$$$$. Although on serious team would run an inferior product, the choice is usually a financial one.

HDL - Bless your heart my man. Believing a team on that level would run the best performing exhaust.
Believe me, as Doug stated it's all about the money on that level. Not that Akro and Arata aren't great exhaust; they are absolutely top notch. If you knew how much it "cost" Jardine to get on the factory Honda's, it would make your eyes bleed.....
