Around here the 1000RR's put out only 140 hp stock. I saw it twice with 2 different CBR's. My 10R pulled 149 the same day a sickly 1000RR pulled 129hp. I thought the owner was gonna cry. In that bikes defense, it only had 300 mile on it. Hey at least the 1000RR weighs more right? lol. BTW, what type of numbers were the 954's puttin out?

OK I get your point.
I just wanted to know what everyone else was seeing.
If R1's were putting out more power all accross the country or if this guys bike is just hot.
But sine everyone wants to just be a smart ass I guess I will never know.
I rode an R1 (see one of my posts) and I prefer my bike.
I happen to be an HP junky (I have turbo'd, supercharged, or N02 just about everything that I have ever owned) and I just like having the fastest shit around.
So thanks for everyones help.
Also to clear things up, the bidding on my bike should stop as it is not going to be for sale.
Peace

i just love shithead sellers like the one in the auction above. u just know he's hoping for someone who knows nothing about bikes to bite and buy it based on those fictitious numbers.

The sad part is someone will beleive it. It's really to bad, a douche like that helps perpetuate the stereotype that all R1 guys get labeled with...that and his massive chicken stripes.
Crisp, dont fret it man. Its all production variance that comes out in the wash. My R1 dynoed 154 stock. The 2 ZXs that ran after it where in the ballpark, though a little unhappy since they were under that. One guy was totally cool and the other was foaming at the mouth. He wanted it done again after the room had time get some fresh air since he claimed 'that Yamaha must have used up all the clean cool are around the dyno'
That other ZX came back the next week and got 12 ponies from a pipe and some minor mapping. They didn't bother finalizing the map since he was gonna drop in a filter, so there was even more to come. But like bryant says, the ZX gets more benefits from pipes than the R1 does, enough to make up whatever small advantage they post bone stock. And the ZX will always be lighter.
As bad as the second ZX owner reacted to his run, you should have seen what he did when the dyno operator showed him his 03 GSXR1000's run. Bone stock 03 1000 with 7,800 miles....154! Even I was surprised that it posted he same HP as the new bikes. Not bad for a has been bike. Most good running GSXRS on that dyno run right around 150.

I ran the zx10 against and 04 R1 , the guy is a pretty good racer, and blew by him with no problems at all,. Raced my buddies Hayabusa ;rolling from 60 he jumped half a bike then as the 10 started winding up I passed him at 10KRpm and heard him shift into 3 , just before I hit the redline on second I shift to 3rd and was allready 2 bikes ahead of him shifted to 4 and had to slow down . Best thing I liked, he admitted the 10R was a strong bike, I could never get the same reply with my 12R. Was going to race a CBR1000 but the guy in the R1 beat him so , that settled the race after I beat the dude with the R1. There was an 02 GSXR blowing everyone out there , but that dude had a bunch of engine mods, but he wasnt real far away on the race against a stock 10R. The 10R is getting a lot of respect out there, I wonder why??????????????Who cares about figures,, YOU NEED TO DRIVE IT AND THATS IT.

Crispin, a wise man once told me it is better to have 1/2 the power and be able to use all of it than twice the power and only be able to use half of it! Thursday two weeks ago I had my first ride day at Philip Island on the 10R and in the mid group in 30 min sessions I had no trouble lapping most of the field at least once and this included all bikes as well as the 04 R1. Exiting turn 12 at 220+ with bikes upto 150m in front the 10R just inhales them, by turn 1 indicated 310kmh ( late braking ) I had no problem pulling away from any bike at any point on the track. My bike is not stock, but the engine is just setup correctly with a USB PC3 full Acra system dialed cams and is chalk & cheese to a stock 10R in side by side runs. The truth is no matter how good your bike is theirs always some bastard who's gone one better, fact of life!

It just appeared 11k's after the 299............. Sorry! like I said the speed was indicated taking it all into account true speed was probably around 290+ not sure where you got the 299 indicated limit I have seen 322 at one stage ( on the track of course) the bike is certinally not short on top end and will hit the limiter in top gear given the room.
