The R1's put out more power

This kills me.

Like most of you I bought my bike because it was sussposed to be the highest HP and lightest bike for 04.

At my local shop I have had my bike dyno'd twice.

I have a PC3 and Micron Pipe I got to 158.5 hp

The R1's are kiling that.

Look at the R1's #'s . He has top in our class right now. He runs a full Akra pipe and programing, thats it.

165!! Almost 7 hp over my best. I have yet to see any 10's put down the 165 that was claimed by every magazine.

I am going to the dyno shoot out on race gas on Dec 12th and see what that does. But I still don't think I will see much over 160.

How else has seen both R1's and 10's on the same dyno. Which one puts out more power?

I was back and forth between the R and the 10

So sell your 10R and buy an R1 if someone else's dyno chart means that much to you.

I've tested many back to back, on the same dyno. Box stock here are the figures:

04 - R1's - average a low of 145 - high of 148
04 - ZX10's - average a low of 140 - high of 160 (most in the 145 - 150 range)

Suffice to say, they are both very close stock. The 10 seems to respond better to exhaust changes. With Slip-Ons, the R1 is gaining 2 -3 hp. The 10 is gaining 4 - 6 in most cases. This is with no mapping changes. But I'm sure other dyno's may tell a different story and should only be used for very general comparisions.

crispin......have you had your valves adjusted?? throttle bodies syncronized??

I would think that maybe the guy with the R1 has his machine in a high state of tune....just like you can do.

try a tune up.....it will probably net you some more ponies

good luck

Crispin,
What did the chart look like between the two all the way through, not just peak? What about torque?
Geez.....If I had a 700hp Turbo Porsche, I wouldn't care what my bike made!

The R1 has a wicked drop in the mid-range. The 10 has one of the nicest graphs around.

What fuel are you using? What fuel was the R1 using? If he was using some of the exotic fuels and you weren't, that could be the difference.

I think your compairing apples or oranges. And he has a full pipe so of coarse he's gonna have more top end then you. I've seen two different dyno's of zx-10's that have full exhaust system makin the exact same power. Get a full pipe or sell your bike for $51

$100.01 and please, nobody outbid me.

Get some velocity stacks, bmc filter and run race fuel if you're that worried about RWHP. Full exhaust, more air in your tire, a different map would all help. Ask mother nature for perfect conditions. What were the conditions when the R1 was dynoed?
