Disappointed by Muzzy's....

I know they are a sponser here, and that is great, but I am a long time customer and I got royally screwed.

After my typically lengthy shopping process, I decided to order a set of frame sliders from Muzzy's on 8/16. I received an order confirmation that showed all of the correct information had been received (name, address, phone, parts requested, charge card, etc.).

I knew from the boards that supply was an issue, so I waited patiently for my order to show up. Today (now six weeks later), I gave them a buzz to check on the order. To my surprise, they tell me that they never filled my order even though it was in the system and the product was in stock just a few weeks ago. Of course, they are now out of stock and I have to wait another few weeks to be filled. No thanks!

I have been a long time customer of Muzzy's from back in the day when I raced a '93 ZX-7RR with a full Muzzy Tiger bodyset and plenty of Muzzy work. Well, I will never spend another dime with them. Moreover, I always thought Muzzy got the shaft from Kawi when they booted him in favor of a factory managed team. But given my recent experiences (and those of other members as posted here and elsewhere), I'm starting to realize that business management might have been a big part of that terminated relationship.

It is sad to hear, but I hate it when businesses act so disinterested in their customers. It's like I need to kiss someone's ass for them to take my money.

Anyway, I still need sliders. Where is everyone purchasing the Moko's from?

TIA.

Dude...I understand your upset about not getting your order filled in a timely manner...Then just talk about the problem!!!...Why all this speculation on Muzzys personal business???

Now you look like the bad guy, when you were 100% in the right to be upset...Dude, less is more!!!

So, you still need sliders...If you cant get them are you going to call Muzzys after a while???...You could have used their mistake to your advantage and get a discount when they finally did send them to you!!!...Now you will probably get nothing!!!

Or he'll get some functional sliders. Some people don't know when they've been done a good turn.

By the way guys, The people who fabricated the sliders did their best to make them similar to what the Gixxers have...

Kawasaki is the one that needs to help us, they need to make a mount for the frame sliders that will hold the weight of the bike and not break off so easily...Also, I have seen Gixxer sliders break too and the guy had to get the frame fixed!!!

Scott in Fl.- Let me start by saying we are not perfect. Our employees are human and do make mistakes. Just like other mortal humans. To say that we don't care about our customers is not true. If you will contact myself or Doug meyer we would like look into this and see what happened. We have every interest in keeping our customers happy.

I wasnt going to jump into this thread, aaah but what the heck.

While I understand your situation, cut Muzzy some slack. You yourself just said you've been a long time Muzzy customer, so obviously they have been doing something right. I would hate to hear that one bad experience turns you away from a company that has proven themselves, especially in quality parts.

If you look at my thread, regarding clutch questions on the 12 side of the board, my Muzzy Clutch Kit outperformed my stock clutch by double the mileage! I'm all for Muzzys, for everything I've ordered from them has been an excellent experience.

The 10 is a new model, there are obviously going to be production, supply, and demand issues. While that doesnt couple well with a rare bad customer service experience, it should not discount any reflection of the company.

I'm all for Muzzys, and the experience of riding my 12R wouldnt be the same without them.

And bikeland too...gotta give them a plug-in since I get so much dang help on here...

Badboy, thanks for the help. I'll be ordering right now.

Rob, thanks for the reply. I agree that was mighty big of you to respond. The part that really gets me is that nobody called to let me know of any problems with my order (ie. no supply, couldn't read my address, wrong credit card number). Mistakes do happen, but when your guys realized an error had occurred on your side, there was absolutely no attempt to accomodate me. I asked, but was rebuffed. That's just not right. I'm off to Moko, but thanks again for the reply.

On a more general note, this experience is a tremendous realization of the power of the Internet to keep businesses honest and accountable to their constituency. Sharing our experiences with one another should force vendors to take a very close look at how they handle customer service. Those that refuse to do so and insist on ignoring the value of their customer base are destined to face serious consequences.

Here's to keeping this Board such a flourishing source of information for everyone to benefit from.

Just a bit of explanation from "our side" is in order here. It is standard practice here to get a telephone number from the customer when an order is placed. This has two purposes. One, it becomes part of your customer I.D. number, and two, if there's a question regarding your order we need to be able to contact you to work it out. This was an internet order and we must (and did) call the customer to confirm the order and to explain following;
When an item not currently in stock is ordered, we inform the customer that we will call before shipping. This is to avoid two very common problems. One, the customer refuses the shipment for a variety of reasons (crashed bike, angry wife, sold bike, etc.) and two, the customer is not at home (on vacation, in the hospital, angry wife, etc.) and UPS doesn't leave it and returns it. This refusal costs shipping both ways and raises costs for everybody so we always call first.
In Scott's case we sent two emails and made 3 phone attempts at various day times over five days. There was no e-mail response and no message machine or voice mail provision. Since there are many of you waiting patiently for these products we moved on. When Scott called on 10/1 his comment to the sales person was "Oh I should have given you my cell number...."
Obviously we regret having made an unhappy customer. One is too many. But there is another lesson regarding "the power of the internet"- Unless there is a response like this you only hear one side.

Doug, you are a liar and you know it!!! And to be quite honest, I never thought you would stoop to that level. Look in the mirror some time pal.

Yes, my order was submitted via the internet. No, nobody called to confirm the order... ever. Moreover, the number you have is my law firm where a receptionist fields calls throughout the day. After hours, there is a voicemail system with a directory for each of the attorneys. You did not call once, let alone five times!

Next, you did not send any emails. The address I gave you is my Yahoo! personal account and I check it daily. I have searched my older messages to see if I missed yours to no avail. You did not send a single email, let alone two of them!

Lastly, I never said "Oh I should have given you my cell number...." First, who the hell would remember what was said during a 45 second phone call three days ago? Is business that slow or are you taping phone conversations now? Second, I never give out my cell number since it is issued by my firm and I do not use it for personal purposes. If I was to provide you with any other number, it would have been the house.

So stop trying to spin this matter. I was nothing but honest about the way that this went down. In retrospect, I realized that maybe I was a bit harsh towards Rob in my first message and I thanked him for his noble gesture in my second message. If my statement regarding the "power of the Internet" is what inflames you, I apologize. The truth is that consumers are better off now with the ability to share their experiences with one another. You can deny that until the cows come home.
