Every dyno and engine builder tells a different story.
I tested a very stout running 10 the other day. Thin head gasket, special valve job, KMC ECU, full Akro Evo2, stock air filter, MR9. 163 hp. Fuel map was nearly flawless.
Mine kissed 160.4 hp with Slip-On, BMC Race Filter, MR9.
So who knows. But starting with the first stage, reaching 168 with the mods listed would be very impressive indeed if at all possible. Seeing as I've seen stockers reading anywhere from a low of 140, to a high of 160, it's very unusual to have someone claim a set figure without knowing what the stock baseline on a particular indivitual bike is. I'm assuming there may be some disclaimers noting "your results may very", or something to that affect.

haha....... Ill believe those #s when I see it run some mph at an NHRA drag strip...lol.
Whats the big deal about flow matching the injectors?? Ive done it before and it may make a whooping .5 hp difference...
Apparently they must get good deals on the Yosh pipes...lol.
Maybe their dyno is in an oxygen rich environment....lol

They don't even make a k&n filter for the 10r yet. I want to see how many HP I can get without tearing into the motor.

BTW ... K&N are out to lunch.... When I was at Laguna 2 years ago I talked to their rep (super super old guy)... told him about all of the problems with fitment on the 12R .. he looked at me like I was from space... he said they'd never had a problem... Methinks they arent a) listening or b) too internet savvy ... al I can tell you is that the board members comments over the years have sealed the coffin for K&N in my books ...

AND that bike has been torn down, inspected and found to be legal by eagle eyed, impartial AMA inspectors. It has the same parts as yours except for a Muzzy exhaust, a power commander, the thin head gasket and some legal ballast.
'Course there is that Ryan thing.......

Ok let me clarify... I dont believe dano's performance has the mojo to tune/build a bike that will put up those #s on an NHRA track..
And the 175 Ryan's bike is making is aways from the 185 dano's is claiming...hehe
So if dano's has the magic...why not let Ryan ride it to 8.80s at 160+?? (hint, the answer is they cant cause they dont have the magic)

I'd really like to see a dyno chart on this! Also how much will it cost? I lurk on this board waiting for someone (Lee Shierts, Carpenter, muzzy's etc.) to come up with something amazing! I've got a carpenter built 1290 zx12 thats alot fun but the new zx10 is better in nearly every aspect except for top end hp (compared to my bike). I want zx10 that will smoke my built 12 in a straight line on motor only (no nos) and be 100% reliable on pump gas!

zx10r power
I agree...I would like to have those high #'s but there has to be something to get it there...headwork alone is a reach.
I know someone out there is working on something....any hints???
Thanks

I will let you know when it is finished and ready to run, in the middle of helping install a new Dynojet 250i in a custom built room that will be something else to finally get the mapping right. First runs on the bike show an absolute ballistic top end from 7k to 13k but a little unstable above 250 kph as it gets the head shakes ( suspension settings ?) as the Ohlins have not been fully dialed in yet. So far the mods made have dramatically increased the bikes performance side by side with a stock 10 in a roll on is just no contest literally leaps forward and is gone! In another 3k the engine will be full race prepped with some special parts and then given the final shakedown to see just how far you can go with a 10R. stay tuned.

I've got a buddy with a KWS built 02 gixxer1 with a 1070 kit that just made 175 hp on pump gas. He is geared -1 in the front and plus 1 in the rear.My bike on the same dyno 1290 kit makes 189 hp and 193-195 hp with winter fuel (oxygenated). My bike is also geared. We both weigh in about 210 lb's without leathers.
His bike is fast! The bikes are almost dead even from a second thru 5th gear roll ons. Only on the higher end does the 12 start to slowly pull away.
My buddy purchased KWS's maxed out engine package, headwork, bigger valves, etc. Now i know different dyno's are going to read differently. So 175 hp on a dynojet 250 at a mile high location might read differently somewhere else. I was hoping his motor would make more hp.
Ive been really considering the new zx10, but i want it to easily beat my zx12 without having to purchase nos or turbo charge it. I posted earlier of carpenter having a claimed 200 hp package for the zx10. Does anyone have a high output 10? Come on fellas chime in!!
