...saw the bike...I'd say it's totaled...complete front end destroyed all the way to the radiator...handle bars sheared off...big dent on the right side of the frame spar...left fork leg snapped off where the leg goes into the caliper bracket...dampener appears ok...left slider gone, but bracket appears intact...right slider appears intact...rear Euro turn-sig and LED license plate bracket appears ok...tank ok...rear wheel assembly and swingarm appear ok...muffler appears ok...the rest and bodywork is junk...11 miles on the odo...feels like a dream....a bad dream....life is still good and I'm a firm believer and advovcate of safety gear...WEAR IT!

...we'll find out soon enough what THEY determine the speed was and by witness accounts...I know I wasn't speeding...one moment truck not there, next moment truck there...as far as extent of injury, well I guess we all break differently from each other...and I'm 49 years-old and in reasonable shape (paramedic thought I was 35  ), if that makes a diff...huh, go figure.....

...thanks, this was no joke...I truly wish it was...this does not, however, waver me from getting another one...I WILL get another one...maybe an 05?...btw, I tried to photo the 11-mile odo and even my camera thinks the gages suck...can't read 'em

I'm just glad that is the extent of your injuries. Far too often, when its "Bike vs. Cage", the results are far worse... to the rider. Also SUCKS about the bike. Like 1bad7 said, if there's anything we can do, just let us know. I know we'll get right on it. That is unless it involves sheep. I'm tryin' to give up that "farm animal thing", ya know.

worm~hole, no, no, no...say it aint so! Damn this sucks. Like another has already said, I feel like I know you all in a few ways or another. While I waited to finish up my tour in Korea I read everything typed here sometimes several times over. While doing so you get to know those ppl writing. I wouldn't wish anything like this on anyone here reading this, period! Certainly not one who knows the pain of having to, "wait it out". I hate this has happened but am glad your spirits are up...keep them there.
Last week when my baby fell over the MPs had a hard time believing I was smiling about it all. Least the toys we enjoy or replaceable and I too am so glad your ok or at least will be fully healed in time. Love reading the things you say...Get well, keep the dog, enjoy the girl and check out the green one

"GEAR" That is the one thing that I advocate more than anything over here. The people in the club we're in don't mind it, bacause, well I(being the president) damn near mandate it. Also with being the base MSF instructor and having standdowns and such the hardest thing to do is get people to understand that I would rather sweat to death than bleed to death. Sorry bout your bike! 11 Miles, son of a bitch! BUT, you live! Everyday is bonus now and heck, you had a great attitude before. Bet that sun shines just a bit warmer now on your ass. Congratulations on your survival!

Worm sorry to hear your MVA...I know you felt good about the special treatment you recieved and how the boys took care of your 10!!!...The broken clavical sucks, that happens from the helmet, ask me how I know...lol...It takes a good 3-4 weeks before it feels good again!!!
At least your ok, and when you get the new 10...You'll have some extra parts!!!...By the way does your Dept. have unlimited sick???

I hear ya...
All the snell / dot approved full face helmets cause the same damage depending on how you fall...They are designed to stop at your clavical to prevent neck damage from your head getting twisted...Unless you wear what the Funny car DragRacers wear under their helmet, not practical for motorcycle riders though!!!
