So I got to ride a 10 in Anger
Like Rossi said, "FAAAAAAAACK!"
Holy shiznit, Batman. I'd lose my license for sure. A 600 with 12R power? Dizam. What a license-burning combination.
I have no business riding one on the street. At all. Or even the track, really. I'd hurt myself.
Now I've riden a bike that will make me admit: I'm scared of it. Like one of the magazines said: "Enough power to drive you into the ground like a golf tee if you aren't judicious with the throttle" ...... or something like that.
Holy crap.
....now I gotta have one.

Fun fun fun...
Worse than crack cocaine...
Can't ever go back!
That being said, my 10R will only see *limited* street use. It's not as fun to ride on the street as my ZZR, and is so much *more* fun to ride on the track...

You boys have no sense of humor, if you don't scare the Shite out of yourself at least once every ride you just weren't trying hard enough! ( just joking ) The first time I rode a GSXR 1000 I thought the same thing it requires a major Brain recal but the ZX10R is just another level again mainly due to the smaller size and instant throttle response. Bravo on having the balls to judge that this bike is just a bit to much for me, overhere when the R1 first came out many riders were killed thinking they could handle it as a first or second bike without the experience to control themselves. Riding should be enjoyed not feared if it's the latter when you ride your on the wrong bike!

I don't harness all of its power and I'll never be good enough to do so. Neither will any of the guys I ride with on the R1, CBR what have you. But I do let it harness almost all I have, least up to a point. Each and every ride I take I know, it wins over me hands down. But Faaack, I love what it does let me do. It's that never ending sensation of acceleration and 600s don't do it for me. Even though I can't ride one of them to its potential in the curves. When I twist a 10 past 8 grand, I can't stop smiling!
But this thing will kill me, just like any other bike, so I respect it greatly...My $.02-lukn

It's a turn of phrase from the quaint cant of the US Armed Services. He's playing on the 'fired his weapon in anger' wording of citations.

I just meant 'in anger' to mean riding fast - with a cold purpose in mind.

Mine must be a lemon ....STILL haven't found this "scary" power that everyone speaks of. With my 12, you have to be gentle with the throttle. On the 10, it's "ham fist" all day. Hey, maybe that's what's wrong with my wrist! :O

The Motherboard is antiquated. Upgrading, if possible, would be a waste of time.
Seriously though,....my 10 does feel rather sluggish compared to the 12.
Sumbitch sure is a lot easier to ride though!

He's had mirror blockoff plates in production for awhile now.
Exhaust hangers are taking a bit more time due to supplier issues.

From a Florida Flatlander who thinks a race ends at the first turn?
I don't think so.
I challenge you to a duel *slap in face with Teknic violator glove*
Me on my 'old school' 600 and you on a 12 or 10. On a REAL race track with actual turns in it.

Funny, I feel opposite. I could whack the throttle on my 12 coming out of the turns and I had it geared lower than stock. But the 10 - nope. Not gonna do it.
Perhaps familiarity has something to do with it. Plus the fact that it was Elk's bike.
