ZX10R TiForce Report (Part One)...........................
Ok, I got my Ti Force for the ZX10R. So I figured I'd share my experience with this system. I'm pretty happy with it. The pic below is the system plus a PC3, and four small packets of Ti prep anit-seize.

The quaility of the welds are pretty good IMO. The only weld that I question is at the collector. As shown in pic below, the weld does not go all the way around. It has a long bead, then it has just one spot welded. It's like that on both sides where it goes 4 into 2. That's the only place on this system with welds like that. This is my first aftermarket system I've ever installed. So I don't know if this is a bad thing, but I question it for sure.

All this talk of Ti Force joints being slipped on and seam welded is true. The pics below proves this. I'm hoping this doesn't cause to much disruption in the gas flow. From what I've seen, the steps this method creates should not cause any back pressure. Then again, I'm far from a pro at exhaust technology. The gas flow always goes from the smaller diameter to the larger diameter at the steps inside the exhaust. So I can't see how this will be very disruptive. I do feel this will add more weight compared to a non-slip & seam weld method. But this is all theory. Please take it as that.

I also noticed the silencer exhaust exit has a slightly smaller diameter then the entrance. I imagine this is for sound asorbtion. Other than that, this mofo is straight through.

I'm doing a stock dyno pull Tuesday 9/7/04. I plan to install the PC3, and TiForce on Wednesday. Then I'm gonna drop the bike off Thursday for a custom map. I hope the numbers are what I've been hearing. I like the way TiForce looks over Arata. With the word of mouth gains sounding equal I went for what I perfer to look at. I'll let you guys know if the power is on par with the likes of Arata. Sato better not come out with a full system now. I will be pissed for sure. I love Sato exhaust. That's the only system I feel looks better than TiForce. I just hate the way the ZX10R exhaust valve looks. So I could not settle for the Sato Slip-On.

When you install the new pipes, can you take a picture or two of what the area under the pan looks like, and whether there is more clearance under the pipe than with the stock exhaust?
Thanks

No problem....... I'll post pics on Wednesday 9/8/04. The bike has to be setup for mapping by Thursday morning. So it should be installed by then. I won't be riding the bike between the stock pull, and mapping. I want to see what this pipe can do.

SP, nice pics.
The collector that has the skip weld and spot weld is correct as far as I remember, there is a huge overlap of the pipes here and it gives it a little (very little) room to flex. The couple of inches of weld, contrary to urban ledgend, would not save any appreciable amount of money on a $1200 exhaust system.
As far as the overlaps, I have been told by the engineers in Suzuka (where the pipes are all made) that the overlaps are intentional as they help reduce the reverberation (simply put as the ability of exhaust gasses to stack up on the pipes walls and travel "backwards" between pulses , eventually back into the cylinder head) . The weight penalities are minimal as the largest "step" is no more than a couple millimeters long.
The silencer is slightly tapered to reduce the volume of the exhaust.
I think you'll be as impressed with the gains your system gives you as you are with it's quality.
Good luck and enjoy your TiForce.

Do you mean reversion, not reverberation?

LMAO! Just a little harmless fun between exhaust guys - but oh man I like that word "reverberation". Obviously that has more to do with a sound or echo affect, but I knew what you were trying to say. Shite, I'm still laughing writing this! It's all good!

You can get it from Rob Hughes, or Hardracing.com. I went with Hardracing because they have a PC3 USB package deal. Really good service at Hardracing.com. Rob Hughes is good people too.

Looks like I'm gonna have a delay on my dyno testing. I just found out my tuner doesn't have a A/F meter on his dyno. I'm not feeeling that. I've heard good things about this shop, but not having a A/F meter doesn't make sense to me. I'll be calling another shop Tuesday to see what's up. Maybe I can get a appointment for Wednesday, and Thursday.

Good decision. Don't waste your money if they don't have an A/F meter.
Man, I must admit that is a beautiful looking exhaust system.

I agree......it's very nice. Their best application I think. I not real fond of some other pipe's they have.

I'll be doing a stock pull Wed. 9/15/04. The mapping will be done on Sat. 9/18/04. Weather looks to be equally good on both days. The TiForce comes with a optional cone thing that goes in the pipe. They claim it increases the torque. I'll test the pipe with and without it.
The mods will be:
-TiForce Full System
-PC3-USB
-Pair Valve System Removed

I know of two 10Rs both with pipes around here. One has the Ti Force and the other has the Akra. The Ti Force bike runs better for some reason. Both are well maintained bikes and both are TOP notch riders. Just thought I would throw that in this thread.
