Asphalt SUX...My 10 is hurt
Parked my 10 and about 8 minutes later a 1SG walks in the company and ask who has the Green Sportbike. Everyone turns to me and he say's; "Dude, it's laying on its side"!
Reason - a strip of asphalt about 200 feet long by 3 feet wide as been laid down along where the front tires of vehicles normally sits. Looks like someone repaired a water line. I just so happen to park my 10 in just the perfect spot (NOT). Kickstand dead in the center of what looks and feels like all the rest of the parking lot. Ha, crap was soft enough I could dig my heels into it. Bike sat just fine for a few minutes before sinking in and giving in to gravity.
Now I'm gathering part numbers from Kaw to get an estimate for the following left side of bike: Mirror stem broke off bike so left mirror needed - upper fairing scratched - middle fairing scratched - rear cowling scratched - clutch lever bent.
Point - stupid is as stupid does! Guys, that darn dumb looking kickstand pad and place it under your kickstand prior to departing. Better yet, be smarter than I am and take that moment to notice where you park. I swear I can't believe I did this to myself. After 2 years riding the ole TLR, I was always so careful where I parked it at, it was so heavy. Now this

may be worth checking if someone can repair those scratches rather than have to shell out for new plastics.

Tomorrow my son will be 18. He walked up to me and said, "I know you must be pissed". I told him "it's just a bike, SHIT Happens and at least know one got hurt".
Little turd then says: "You probally want to just cry huh" and then he wraps his arms around my neck...The things dads do to cling to there sons...Maybe I'll give him an extra $20 this weekend
Bike still a screamer. Maybe faster missing one mirror Least now I don't have to worry about putting a scratch on it! HaHa life goes on, lesson learned. Doubt the Military Installation will assist...although I've friends in big places, will wait and see-lukn

I left mine outside during a rainstorm about a week after I got it..........I woke up to find mine on its side. I cried like a baby(well I felt like crying ) I feel your pain bro. I have a left mirror stalk I had rewelded to use until my new 80.00 mirror came in. You can have the stalk welded and then repaint it.Just make sure to keep the mirror housing cool so it doesnt melt. I will send you the one I welded and you can see how much a glass company will charge to install a mirror after you break your glass so you can remove the nut from the stalk and install the repaired stalk.Let me know if You want to use it. Dont laugh fellas you cant tell its been repaired, and 80.00 is a lot of duckies for a mirror...........

When mine fell over, it broke off the mirror, scratched all 3 fairings and shattered the tail section. I bought a new tail section, mirror and had the fairings fixed and painted yellow. It sucked seeing it laying on it's side.

here is a tip..you don't need a "stupid looking kick stand pad". You can always find a crushed can of kieths under my seat. Works great as a kick stand pad.

plastic for 10 is cheap. about 500 for the top middle and bottom of one side. had to check due to the rear tire coming loose around a corner on me.
