True rpm of 10R rev limiter?
Does anyone have the true rpm value (not the tach's rpm value, unless it's certain that the digital tach actually is dead on) for when the 10R's limiter kicks in?
If no further information, I guess I should take it from Rob Muzzy's post:
quote: on the dyno, rev limiter 12700 rpm, indicated speed 192 mph.
that the limiter is actually at 12,700 and the tach, like most bikes, reads high. Is that right?
Thanks!

yeah your Tach is prolly off some sp500, I would guess that Doug got his reading off the dyno, which should be spot on.my limiter kicks in about 13000 on the digi tack on my bike.....

so now the question is at what revs to set the shift light? was at 12k, but looks like it need to be earlier, my dyno graph looks like it stops around 12,500.

tkae the bike out on a nice straight road and open her up in 2nd or 3rd gear, you will feel the power drop off just before the revlimiter kicks in, set the shift light at the point just before the power let off, you should be close enough for gerenral practice, if that isnt close enough for you, you need to be collecting a paycheck on that bad boy.....lol

I got 10.308 at 138 mph but was lowered 2 inches back, slamed two front, straped front and Dket exhaust can mod...
kinda debating on shift light a little bit ;believe 12,500 is good point. wonder about it being off by 1000 now. But... seat of the pants power drop off detector will tell me best shift point.
Going back to drags labor day weekend ; Now I have lowered two more inches in back (4 total) and will utilize Mickey thompson radial shootout tire ; BMC race filter and 7" extensions. looking forward to nines; will see....
First time at drags pulled wheelie in most of second and got briefed to not do that by the track manager hehe. I was innocent; really...hehe.
Dosen't quite add up how are dynos showing a 12,700 limit when factory supposedly allows ZX-10R motor to rev to 13,000 without going into redline.

yes I'm curious too.
This bike sure is amazing in the top end though, there was a zx12r which was strapped, stock exhaust did a 10.28 but trap speed was the same as mine. I was just wheelspinning all the way.
