Is yours smooth ?
Not what your thinking. When I rev the engine sitting still I feel a vibration from about 4000 rpm up. I feel it through the fairing.I tried to reposition the clutch cable but doesnt seem to help.I can feel it also when riding . I may end up removing the fairing to see if something is mis-routed. Has any one else experienced this vibration. Thanks for your time and input.

It seems to be across the board sort of a thing, between certain revs it does this.

Its a characteristic of the 10r due in part to the high performance, light weight components and no counterbalancer.

those that think this bike has too much vibration.... is this your first bike or something? Compared to my '91 GS500 and '00 SV650 it's like the baby's bottom...... compared to the '01 R1, bout the same....

NOT my first bike, which doesnt matter anyway. My Husqvarna 500 would shake your teeth out....my RM 250 was fairly smooth,my CanAm 225 was smooth,my Hodaka 125 wasnt too bad,my 600 Ninja was fairly smooth (until the flywheel nut came loose)My R6 IS smooth, AND the list could go on.
I want to compare APPLES to APPLES. If I have a problem I want to fix it. Thats why I asked if YOUR ZX10R has a vibration at these RPM's. I want to see if other ZX10R owners are feeling this same vibration. If you dont have a ZX10R dont answer my question.........Thanks to all that have answered.

well, the problem with comparing apples to apples is that you aren't personally riding everyone's 10R on here and seeing if it has the same vibration as yours. You have to rely on every individual's opinion of how much vibration is normal. Otherwise you would get everyone saying, "Why yes, mine vibrates pretty steadily from the point that I start the engine til I turn it off again." You have to have a point of reference, which is why I mentioned a few other bikes. I do have a 10R, that's why I answered.

Vibration definitely varies depending on what bolt-on/slip-on is on it - at least that's what I've noticed.

dnwhoop02 ride your bike to Silsbee and lets compare them. Then we can go for a ride. Hopefully I will run across someone that has a 10R that I can see for myself (ride the bike). My bike has no add ons at this point (Completely Stock) right down to the ugly ol mud flap. I just didnt notice this vibration when I first bought the bike. It runs fine just has the drone type vibration from 4000 to about 6500 or so.You feel it in the handlebars and in the fairing. Thanks for the input.

well, if it helps any... I did get to compare mine to another one at the track a few weeks ago, and they both had a minor vibration around 4-5. The owner wanted to hear mine because he said his had a ticking sound. I couldn't hear it myself, but he said his had it and mine doesn't. So I guess I would say that the vibration is normal for 10R's, but the ticking sound varies. I'm surprised you didn't notice if when you first bought the bike.... following Kawasaki's break-in procedures meant you had to keep it right around 4-6 for 1000 miles. I thought I was going to go crazy. I guess the reason I don't notice it anymore is that I dropped a tooth in front, and now I don't really spend much time in that rpm range. I try to keep it at least at 6K, where it smooths out....

Silsbee, TX? That's about 200 miles from me. I'm not that into long rides.... sorry. However, I'll be at Oak Hill raceway in Henderson this weekend if I can find a Scotts damper by then...
