Off Topic Carb Question

Off topic from the 10 but I just picked up a 85 600r for the wife to learn to ride and having a problem getting it to start. Cleaned the carbs out but the bike will only start if I fill carbs with gas from a syriinge. Even with full choke there is no way it will start without priming the carbs. Once started I can shut off for awhile and it will start up. Only after sitting for a period will it not start. Did not notice any fuel leakage. Could this be a float problem.

Sounds like the gas isn't making it from the tank to the bowls. Could well be a fuel petcock problem.

I had a honda with a vacume diaphram on the fuel valve.
When it failed, no gas would move from the tank to the fuel line.

Herd of plenty of other fuel shutoff valve problems elsewhere as well..

Might want to snoop there for a bit..
