1000RR + Full Exhaust +PC = 164rwhp
Seems like the honda is a bit choked by the stock exhaust. This bike only had 300miles on it. Bet it'll be >165rwhp with some miles.

Micron is very well known for producing some great claims and graphs to back it up. Problem is most folks cant seem to realize the same gains.
And why do you ask I say this. Because I bought one of their systems for my 99 R1 back in 99. They faxed me graphs showing 18HP gains. 18!!
All said and done, jetted to perfection (according to an AF meter as well as my ass) what do you think I got? 7HP. The max anyone else got was 9HP. A far cry from what they were leading folks to beleive.
When questioned, they said that they tuned the bike and cam timing varies enough to make some bikes not respond to their pipe.
So be warned, their claims are overly generous.

How many HP in just retiming the cams?
One could retime the stock cams for peak HP, too, but the graph should show a loss in power elsewhere, right?
Now if the cams are improperly degreed from the factory, I could see maybe 2 HP gain - but then I have no firsthand knowledge so I could be in error.

Degreeing cams can lead to a 2-3hp gain across the board BUT that would only be if they were off/outta wack to begin with. If they were properly dialed from the factory then perhaps a 2hp gain in/through one particular RPM range after redegreeing but thats about it. BTW Micron zucks.

We put one of our works HRC systems on a stocker just to see what it would do. Kinda weird, ours had 300 miles on it also....
Stock was 145.8 hp, 76.1 tq. Piped it was 155.4 hp, 78.3 tq. It really came alive after 6000 rpm and was vicious at peak. It did run a little lean and may have gained 2 hp more with some remapping.
The stock headpipes actually work really well on stock motors. Up until we sent the Honda Australia works team full systems two weeks ago, they were winning races with just our Slip-Ons using the stock headpipes! When they started getting more kit engine parts, the full systems were necessary to exploit those parts.

Actually, this was hardracing.com that did the dyno and mapping of the bike with the micron exhaust. It wasn't from micron although micron put hardracing's dyno on their webpage. I'm less concerned about the absolute numbers as compared to the relative gains. The akra, Moriwaki, and arata pipes are all providing 10-12hp when mapped (individually owned bikes, not the pipe manufacturers). This is comparable to what Kerry noted above so I believe it. These pipes are also saving about 11-12lbs of weight. That's quite a bit. Lastly, a local shop here has setup 3 1000RRs with full systems and mapping. They were all about 160rwhp. Not bad.

Did you get a load of the marketing smack talk???
quote: ...making simple round tube exhaust manufacturer's "cringe" at the thought of offering products for such leading edge technology. World leader Micron has no trouble with such designs, and the Serpent full systems finally bring the CBR-1000RR up to the performance level it deserves in the ultra competitive performance arena. A beautiful, strong curve with power EVERYWHERE, no losses in any part of the curve! Let's see who can even come close.
World leader....lol. Who the fuck are they kidding?

And this sounds like a dig at Jardine....
quote: Rear fender, turn signals, license plate holder are all retained, Micron never asks customers to "cut up" their motorcycle to install a poorly engineered product.

Huh? Ours keeps all that stuff and bolts on just like stock. Only needs a minor mod to the stock heat shield if you decide you want to keep it. Did I miss something?

Well, I guess modding the heat shield means "cut up" in Micron marketing speak...lol
