Central Texas Coming Events

June 19-20 - CMRA Endurance (Sat) and Sprints (Sun). Check HERE for schedule and details. Entrance is $15 for the public for both days. I will be corner working for this event, which pays $100. Click on "Involvement" on the CMRA website if you're interested in working the races.

June 26-27 - Ride Smart Track Days. Check HERE for more info. The website kinda sucks, but you can contact Dave Wonders (ridesmart@mac.com) at 512-469-9491 should you have any questions. Tell him David Nolden referred you and maybe he'll give you a good deal on leathers or a lap timer rental (if you need them).

Will be at the CMRA event with BMR (Backmarker Racing LLC). We'll be getting there Friday (hopefully before the gate closes).

Going to run in the Medium Superstock class. We were fourth in class going into Cresson, but engine problems on the second lap bumped us down to eighth. Hope to make up part of it at TWS. Some of us will be leaving on Sunday early (gotta be back at work on Monday and it's an 8 hour drive), but we'll have run or two riders in the afternoon sprints.

I'm wanting to bring my 10R down and have Marcus of RPS take some "stock" measurements off of it before I swap to the Diablo Corsas and just talk to him about the 10R's suspension in general. He has done wonders on our four R6s.

Stop by and visit after the endurance race when you get a chance. You won't be able to miss us. We'll have a 8.5' x 24' "blank" black trailer (still working on the sponsors) and possibly a 5' x 10' black Wells Cargo as well.

sounds good. I'll keep an eye out for your trailer and try to stop by. I won't have my 10R up there unfortunately... we have to bring our own chairs and coolers and stuff. Oh, and what's your name by the way?

Sherman, but I will respond to "Red Elk", "Dumb Shit" or just about anything else.

I've got real short red hair with a short pony tail (more of a "rat" tail). Odds are, I'll be wearing a desert camo jungle hat, running around the paddock/trailer and trying to look real serious (aka "Rob Muzzy", but with about 1/1000th of the track side knowledge).

Oh, and if you see Steve, the "floating" corner worker (usually riding around on an old Honda XL100) before we do, tell him that the guys at Backmarker says to "F**k Off" and next time, he'll have to pay to stay in our trailer overnight.

In all honesty, there is no better CMRA track worker than Steve. He's worked more than his fair share of our (and hundreds of others) team's crashes.

I've corner worked a few times myself and I think that everyone, both racer and those thinking about racing, should work a corner at least once a season.

Not only does it give the rider a different perspective of a race that one can not get from the stands or pit wall, but it reminds all of them of how important both the CRMA staff and the volenteers are to their safety.

Hey Dumb Shit!

I hope the rest of the season goes well! You gotta get some pics of the team posted, and show off that SV when Jon gets it out there on the track.
